stardancer Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Hi my dd ballet teacher is starting gcse dance.but is having trouble finding a hosting centre to take the exam for about six students. Can anyone help or have any ideas,we are in the north, but will be willing to travel
taxi4ballet Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Perhaps the teacher could approach local secondary schools which offer GCSE dance, or maybe contact the examining body to ask. 1
LovetoDance2003 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) Oh please can she come and work at Holmes Chapel comprehensive school in Cheshire. My dd will be going into year 9 and will be choosing GCSE dance as an alternative to core/GCSE PE. My concerns are it is taught by PE teachers and not teachers who are specifically trained in dance! stardancer Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 Hi Lovetodance2003 My dds teacher would love to teach your dd it is a shame you didn't live up north, as you would be very welcome to join, more the merrier. Hi taxi4ballet We have tried the local comprehensive schools but have been met with hostility.
LovetoDance2003 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 ???????? Stardancer! Counted on Cheshire being in the north. Obviously not north enough! All the best with the mission. Hope you and your dd teacher manage to find somewhere. ????
Anna C Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Have you contacted the AQA at all? They have some useful information here: http://www.aqa.org.uk/student-support/private-candidates/finding-a-school-or-college 2
invisiblecircus Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Contact the examining body. They should have details of all the centres willing to take external candidates.
