  1. Its not just on TV some dance competitions / festivals the dances can make you feel uncomfortable. I even think some of the costumes could of come straight from the Ann Summers shops

  2. My dd does Ballet, tap, and comps on Monday, musical theatre and comps on Tuesday, ballet on Wednesday, Friday ballet, tap, jazz and gymnastic's dance and Saturday she helps with the little ones from 9.30 and then Riverdance and Acro  and finishes at 4. Starting in Sept she will be doing Modern and stretching on Thursday.

DD's teacher tries very hard to get the different dances of roughly the same grade to follow on from one to the other.  Sometimes it doesn't work for everybody but she does try

  3. I don't have this problem my dd teachers are amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. My problem is that my dd is sooooo comfortable there she is shy about exploring new place such as summer schools, and vocational schools but I know she wants to dance professionally

  4. Lema he takes the bus , which is virtually door to door as he know that journey well as we have done it together more than 20 times . There are those that share Taxis , but he can't go in one alone as he is to young according to the taxi company !!!!

Since it's a fixed time train on an advance booked ticket it was a logistical nightmare getting someone over 14 to share with him at just the right time ! The comforting thing is that I can track him on his phone and keep him on the phone all the time to make sure he gets there safely ! We have an app for the virgin trains that tells me which platform to send him to as well , once on , it's straight through to Euston .

We had never considered Elmhurst till his dance teacher recommended it , purely because of the distance , but it is feasible .....and will get better with time as he is quite confident travelling alone now and next year hopes to travel with friends as well .

The worst part was a the first term , I was exhausted getting back home late around midnight on Friday and Sunday nights after taking and dropping him as the school does not open till 6pm on a leave out Sunday and then having to go to work the next day . RBS is different as I believe the school does not actually close in the term time , though someone may correct me on that !

My non DS has been using a taxi to get to school since year 3 and it was only because I kicked up a fuss that he had an escort until year 8

  5. Children are nasty and no matter wether you are at vocational school or main stream they are still nasty.  Rising above it is the best policy but that's hard, telling the responsible person is also hard, using your words for a shy person is also hard or laughing at yourself. I think it really depends on the persons personality what that person does. I have been there and until I left the school it didn't stop.
