Hi my dd has been offered a funding final at Tring so is over the moon! Good luck to everyone for their finals and fingers crossed for waiting list! I had made it clear that we were only able to take a place if it was funded.

  4. I have been following this forum from the beginning of the audition process last September!! I've followed everybody's ups and downs, cheered and commiserated with all of you!! Now I have news of my own that I have to share! My DD now has 3 finals, Tring , Elmhurst and then this week RBS finals!! Completely shell shocked!! But bursting with pride for her!

Congratulations and well done! It will ba an exciting day!

  5. It's a no for us. Does mention being strongly considered for mids though. DD will be gutted despite having Elmhurst and Tring finals...something about White Lodge I suppose :(

It is an expected no for us as well! ): maybe next year we shall try again

Sorry for your news . . . As lots of other lovely parents have said on here it's a no only for now big hugs

Any advice re getting to park would be most appreciated! I am thinking though there will probably be a thread on here somewhere! Lol!

  7. Thank you for all your kind comments. It is much more upsetting than I thought it would be. None of us like our dc's to be hurt or rejected do we? I think getting into ja's after only taking up ballet months previous possibly made it a little too easy the first time around. I wasn't even expecting a place for him but I so wanted him together to finals for his self esteem, nothing else.

Ah well, it can't be changed can it? I am a little reluctant to speak to his JA teacher about why he wasn't successful this time as it does say on the letter that no discussion will be entered into as to why a place was not offered.

I am sorry for your news, it is a delight when our children are accepted into JAs however if you look at the number of Jas to actual places available in WL and mid associates you will see how hard it is for the royal to choose for further training . . . And that's without non JAs. As already shared there are lots of other routes into a career in dance and even though the royal is a dream for many realistically it's not about whether your son is good enough it's about what they see on the day. My Dd has been in since year 4 and whenever we visit work shops in London I sit and think how lovely all the children are and wow how I would find it hard to choose 24 children out of these as it must be so difficult as they are all potentially talented children in the mere fact that they have been chosen for Jas. there are also many talented non JAs so the odds are stacked against all of the dc auditioning for so few places.

If your ds is passionate he will inevitably carry on with your support. . . Good luck!

  8. Sadly it is a no for DD. :(  She doesn't know yet so plenty of cuddles tonight to boost her confidence for Sunday at Covent Garden.  Just one thought has anyone been rejected from Elmhurst to then get into WL?  I could do with some ammo for tonight's morale boost!!

Sorry to hear. . . My dd got a no for Elmhurst and Hammond. . . . . We are waiting to hear re tring and just had royal today . . . The main thing is she has thoroughly enjoyed her experiences and has moved on quite quickly from the rejections as she calls them. . . Good luck for Sunday!
