  1. I have a feeling it's a blanket email that is going out and every email address is being included. It's the first year that applications for all courses have been available on line and being able to pay through PayPal. This will save money on postage and banking.

  2. Yes we have an 8.45 start too and auditioning for year 7. I'll look out for you and will say hello. There are quite a few girls I know that are auditioning tomorrow so I will probably be in a fairly large group.

Good luck to your DD and all the other children too!

  3. Hi Amos, still undecided here. Teacher said it was probable it was a no due to body shape - she's tall and v skinny so no idea what she means and didn't want to ask in front of DD

We would be looking at a yr 5 place

May go just for the class exp again but personally I think it's hard not to get hopes up no matter how you say you feel about no expectations :)

Hi if your daughter is keen to audition I would let her, it's a lovely class to do my DD got in at year 4 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Our teacher had asked if I had actually gone on the website and seen at what the children looked like as my DD didn't look like that. However my DD was desperate to go and she has gone through 3 years of JA's and is now an MA! If I had listened or looked st photos she may not have had the lovely opportunities and experiences that she has gained in the last 3 years!

    Good luck!

  6. Hi my DD has her audition for Elmhurst upper on Tuesday. The letter stated she should have clothing for Classical ballet which is all sorted. Does she go underdressed? With something appropriate over the top or do they get changed there. It isn't quite clear and this is her first audition. I'm quite excited for her however she's nervous x

    Hi Vetty

My DD went with her hair done, ballet clothes on (underdressed) and warm outer clothes. They will get taken to some changing rooms where they can change into their ballet shoes.

    Good luck!

  7. It's not for us - dd will be going to Elmhurst but her best dancing friend is desperate to go to Mids and every one we have spoken to or heard from (who attend JAs) has got SWL. We make the list for London 5 that we know of! That doesn't sound very short!

Sorry to hear your news there are children who do get in off the swl as children are still waiting for offers for voc schools, we never know whats round the corner

  8. You have all been very helpful. I have managed to google quite a few of the children who will be joining DS by using a few search words - interesting.. Obviously lots of people don't mind the photo/name thing. I have decided to say they can have a photo if full name is not used. If that's not ok, then we won't do it. I appreciate all your views which have helped me make a decision. Thank you!

Hi would it be more comfortable for you maybe just putting his first name in. . . .another option I suppose.

  9. Hi welcome Smiles I was under the impression that once the appraisals for the current mids are under way then places maybe offered from there. I am sure parents who are in the know will clarify that.

  11. I have a sad DD who got a no from WL final.  It makes it harder as her friend got in.  We are going to do some fun non dancing things.......and wait for Elmhurst Final results.

Sorry to hear your news Fudge. . . . Big hugs to you and the other DD's too who received nos. My dd knows a few of the girls who got in and is looking forward to keeping in contact with them. Good luck for further results!

  12. Flowerdew, I have the same situation with 1 yes and 1 no for my pupils!! Its very hard for them to accept but it makes them stronger and prepares them for the tough world they are choosing to go in to.

Yes I agree and was wondering that Plié! My daughter has said she feels quite determined in her quest to want to be a dancer and realises now that potentially there are many routes to fulfill that as I have read on the forums. I have shared some of these stories with her and she is feeling a lot more upbeat and happier now that her dream may not happen at this point but further down the line!

  13. My dd has just opened letter and she has been put on a waiting list for WL does anyone know how many get this and is there any likelihood if people not accepting their place?

My DD got her dream letter today, getting in to White Lodge! We are all shell shocked and can't quite believe it and so far hasn't really sunk in!! We are so sorry for the nos, but you are all amazing dancers and don't let anybody tell you otherwise!! We've met loads of lovely people on route through this long process and we wish everyone the best of luck with whatever they choose to do xx

    Fantastic news big congratulations

  14. Thank you, I never dreamt that my dd would make it so far so getting to the finals was a massive achievement for us. I am happy that I get to keep my dd at home for a bit longer.

Sorry to hear your news . . . . A no for us too . . . . Dd devastated then went out to play with her friends! Still wouldn't change the lovely experience at finals we had! Fabulous memories! On reserve list for Tring . . . And now the wait for mids and summer school! Good luck to those probably receiving yeses tomorrow!
