  1. I know! It was bonkers!!! They seemed to be auditioning for all year groups on Friday - and boys too of course - but there were a huge number in each class - just don't know how they choose who to take to finals?? Just the wait now - shouldn't be too long - unlike RBS!!! F x
  2. What audition was she in? Assuming she was in Manchester as think that is the only one that has been so far? (I think!) My DD was in at 2.30pm with the other MAs xxx
  3. Was LOVELY to meet you and your DD - what a nice morning it was! The school is amazing isn't it? We are expecting a "no" to finals but it never harms to get your face seen! It was fantastic weather wise - more like a gorgeous spring day - we were very lucky as it could have been SO much worse! F x
  4. Thinking realistic!!! Anything else will be a bonus! xxx
  5. Definitely saw her as Annabel had that leotard too!!! Annabel was in her MA navy leotard with navy ribbon in hair. Best of luck! x
  6. Thanks! Can't believe it was a year since we met there - it was nice to see Lildancers DD there yesterday! x
  7. Not until they have completed the audition tour - I am guessing mid February. Think you get about 2 weeks notice of finals from memory? Best of luck all! My DD enjoyed her audition in Manchester but holds out little hope! F x
  8. I will have seen you as we hung around after group 2 waiting for friends to arrive! (My DD is very tall and blonde and I was wearing black jumper and jeans) F x (best of luck!)
  9. Around 30 in group 2 also - very very big class! Good standard as Miracle says - no hope for DD!!! F x
  10. Oh hello! My DD was in Group 2 (the tall blonde MA one!!!) - which was your DD? I probably spoke to you as I was in "chatter" mode!!! - I was the one with (dyed!) brown hair having a bad hair day - black jumper and jeans. F x
  11. Best of luck to everyone auditioning in Manchester tomorrow and London on Sunday! Keep us posted! (just got to remember to pack everything now!!!) F xxx
  12. Hello - my daughter is a Mid at Northern Ballet and was also a JA before that. The audition is very basic (very similar to Royal) - nothing to worry about! Super facilities! Tell her to enjoy the audition and smile! Best of luck! F x
  13. Anyone out there at Elmhurst this week? (Friday). DD attempting again (y10). She has a morning audition. F
  14. My DD was not old enough to do Elmhurst last year but has done YBS and loved every minute of it! Beautiful place to do a summer school (we are lucky enough to live half an hour drive away but DD chose to board for the experience). There are some amazing dancers - it was wonderful to watch the classes and performance at the end of the week. The teaching is exceptional. Students age 14 and over are allowed out into York (it is in central York). Also they offer 2 different weeks. I would love my DD to be able to go back again. F x
  15. Same as above - my DD started it in year 8 at her ballet school and will finish it in a few months. She did it as a bit of an optional extra to get one under her belt as the opportunity was there. It is defo more about choreography and reviewing other works than dance - no ballet whatsoever (DD very ballet orientated) but she has enjoyed the opportunity to work with her friends on the dance pieces and it has been a nice way to ease her into the GCSE way of thinking. F x
  16. @beccijackson - tell her not to worry as it is a very basic audition! Tell her just to enjoy it - there won't be anything that she will struggle with! Please keep us posted! Best of luck! F xxx
  17. Hello! Yes my DD is going for Lower School (Y10). She has her audition in Manchester (where she is an MA) on 12th January - got Elmhurst the following morning so it is all go!!!! Best of luck to all F xxx
  18. Thanks Bruce for setting up the forum again! So nice to be back again! Happy Christmas one and all! F x
