  1. I do prefer Swan Lake - it’s probably my favourite ballet, overall. However, yes, the Rose Adage was just gorgeous. Fumi danced it perfectly. I was so impressed!
  2. Will post my review later - am on the train home now. I absolutely loved it! 😍
  3. She has a lovely voice and is a wonderful actress, too.
  4. Thanks, Sim. I have booked for 18th March. I want to see Ferri dance anyway but have been holding off booking to see who else would be dancing. At the end of the day, though I try to book certain dancers, I accept they may be injured, ill etc. so I am certain whoever dances I will enjoy it.
  5. I am going to book this but have no details on the casts at all and can't find anything online, which is very frustrating. I always try to book to see William Bracewell, but can't make 11th March. Does anyone else know when he may be dancing? If not, I'll just take pot luck and book a date I can make.
  6. I have read a lot of reviews of Beauty this run and the prologue fairies regularly seem to disappoint, it appears. I am going to the Saturday matinee and am very interested to see what I think of them - I know the ballet very well and love it. However, I do agree with you and often find the prologue a bit of a slog - I feel the same about Nutcracker with the opening scenes at Clara's house - it seems to go on and on! I haven't seen Hayward in the role, but I can see she would make a lovely, young and vibrant Aurora. I am considering going to the cinema relay in May to see Naghdi/Ball as I have never seen them in these roles. I really enjoy the live relays. I will post my review of the matinee - I am looking forward to it so much and am praying I do not have any 'audience issues!'
  7. I was always a Microsoft girl, but recently went Apple for my laptop - been an iPhone and iPad user for some years now. I love my Mac Book and I love watching my ballet DVDs on it. You will be fighting over the DVD player and good luck fighting over the computer - I think you will win! I have a newer iPad and mine doesn't have a USB socket. I can't wait to see Fumi and Will!iam! Off topic, but did anyone see Anthony Dowell coaching William Bracewell in Daphis and Chloe , Daphnis's solo- it was recently posted on YouTube. I just love it! Edit - I tried to share the link but the video seems to be here. Mods, please delete if this is not appropriate. Thank you!
  8. I'm going to the matinee on the 4th too. I am so excited!
  9. I have an Apple dvd player that plugs into my Mac Book. I use it all the time to watch my ballet DVDs.
  10. How I wish there was a 🤣 option for us to use on posts! This made me laugh out loud!!!
  11. I do not understand how it's possible to listen to and appreciate live classical music whilst munching crisps - let alone the fact that you would be ruining the enjoyment of those around you! I accept eating food at the cinema, of course - I've had the odd ice cream, certainly, but I find it not only annoying but unacceptable to eat loudly during live performances. It's anti-social, in my opinion. Surely, eating snacks can wait for an interval? 🙄
  12. My husband records all golf (any on TV, on any station, all the time . . .you get the picture!) and I haven't noticed any ROH streaming commercials, though, to be fair, I don't watch and he winds through the adverts. I will ask him if he's seen any on the sports channels he watches. Interesting marketing. I can honestly say, though my husband does join me at ROH sometimes (usually under protest, unless it's Nutcracker, of course), he would not be interested in the streaming service. I suppose they carry out market research and target their audience. I have noticed that we get targeted advertising on Sky, for example. The more that subscribe the better, though I am still waiting for a number of recent cinema relays to be shown on the service (pretty please, ROH!)
  13. Yes. Marianela said on IG some time ago she is dancing Coppelia PDD with William Bracewell.
  14. I am the same. If I politely ask someone to turn their phone off or stop talking, I feel tense for quite a while. It takes a lot for me to actually ask someone to stop doing something they're not allowed to do and I suppose by the time I actually pluck up the courage to speak, I am already stressed. I cannot understand why people are so thoughtless. It seems to be happening much more these days. I have yet to encounter someone eating chicken wings during a performance - I sincerely hope I never do!
  15. Well. Finally something new is on the streaming site that I haven't seen. Romeo and Juliet with Sambe and O''Sullivan.
  16. Marianela Nunez and William Bracewell are dancing the Coppelia PDD.
  17. I received this too. £200 was mentioned frequently. I would not pay that much for a ticket. The £170 for SB and Cinderella was bad enough! It was a long and strange survey, I thought. I enjoyed writing in the comments box!
