How would you put together an RB season?
Swan replied to Lizbie1's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
I would love to see The Dream live at the ROH as I watched the stream many times during lockdown and it reintroduced me to ballet after an absence of many years! -
@Emeralds, I was at the Bank Holiday matinee too and love your review. The whole afternoon was wonderful and I enjoyed my second visit even more than my first. Morera and Muntigirov were amazing in Month, as were the whole cast, and the insouciance and wit by Corrales that you referred to in Rhapsody was spot on. He gets better every time I see him and hope I can see him in this role again in the not too distant future.

A joyous afternoon. My first Scenes de Ballet and I’m looking forward to seeing it again next week as, while undoubtedly challenging and interesting, I think I need a second look to fully appreciate it 👀. I thought Month was terrific, heartfelt and sublime. ALL of the cast were amazing. Everyone involved in Rhapsody was fabulous too, such quick feet and Marci’s jumps were awesome!

Royal Ballet's Swan Lake (Spring 2022)
Swan replied to MJW's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
@Dawnstar, as a newbie to this forum I enjoy reading everyone’s comments and have found the fouettés discussion fascinating. Please continue to post your thoughts and, like others, I look forward to hearing about Fridays performances. I attended my first ever double performance last Tuesday and it was amazing! I travelled home exhausted, exhilarated and full of joy at having had the privilege of watching so many wonderful dancers in just one day!- 1,276 replies

Royal Ballet - Romeo and Juliet - Winter 2022
Swan replied to MJW's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
I’d managed to buy a return for the front row of the GT at yesterday’s matinee and had a lovely view. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Cuthbertson/Ball pairing but I thought they were absolutely gorgeous together. A terrific performance from everyone which left me feeling very emotional as I left the house and I very much hope that R&J returns soon. As others have said, we have been so fortunate to see such wonderful casts this season. I’m now wondering who I’ll be lucky enough to see at the Swan Lake Friends rehearsal! @JennyTaylor If you went to Manchester to see the match I think you did, I know you will have had a wonderful time. The boys in my house were very happy when I arrived home after the ballet! -

I loved last night’s screening and enjoyed seeing the facial expressions of the dancers up close which I’m not able to see at the ROH, even with glasses. Terrific acting from the whole cast and lovely performances from O’Suliivan and Sambe. It was my third time seeing Joonhuyk Jun as the lead mandolin dancer and he is always really good. Sadly the Saturday matinee will be my last R&J this run and I will miss it as as much as I’m still missing Giselle! -

I was able to buy a returned GT seat for the R&J matinee on Saturday 19th. I’m looking forward to seeing the ballet from a new perspective as I’ve never sat in the GT before and hope my glasses will allow me to zoom in for the action if I’m too far away! Will be excited to see a new, for me, Tybalt in Tomas Mock. -

Fabulous photos Rob S, thank you. Loving the comments from everyone at the performance last night and I’m looking forward to seeing Mayara and Calvin as R&J in a future run. -

After reading your amazing reviews and seeing your fabulous photos this season, I felt it was time to join the forum! Thank you to the moderators for accepting me. 🙂 I wanted to echo the comments already made about the Naghdi/Campbell performance on Saturday which was so beautiful and moving. I felt that their relationship was believable and I felt privileged being able to see them dance together. Applause to the rest of Saturday’s cast too, I’m really looking forward to seeing more shows this run.- 603 replies
