on the basis of this link, the exact same seat for DQ I sat in for the 2018 revival has doubled (£26 to £52).

I've just checked the price of my 2018 Don Q seat - side front amphitheatre: £19. It has now gone up to £52!  An unbelievable increase. I thought £34 for Cinderella and Beauty was a lot but £52 is bordering on the ridiculous.

(Edited to add that all of  these front side amphitheatre seats have a  restricted view and, for some of the seats, particularly those in row B, the view can be very restricted)

Assuming the seating chart is correct, this increase in front side amphitheatre  prices (from £34 for Cinderella and Beauty to £52 for Don Q) is accompanied by a lowering of the higher prices elsewhere.  As I mentioned earlier in this thread, some stalls circle side seats that were £70 for Cinderella and Beauty have been reduced to £52 for Don Q.  Some of the stalls circle side seats which were £112 for Cinderella and Beauty have been reduced to £67 for Don Q.

It's hard not to suspect that they've raised the price of the cheaper seats so as to compensate for the reduction in price of these more expensive seats.

All of the performances from your excellent link start with 54. All the performance numbers I can access from the website currently start with 56 and are generic seat maps

Guess I'll just have to wait until the scrum on Wed morning to find out what's really available.

I’ve found that different dates seem to have different availability so it could be that they are showing real time availability- especially as many of the unavailable seats are popular with patrons and premium 2 Friends (i.e. it could be that those who sent in lists have already had their lists processed). I am, of course, only speculating.

@Bluebird's link comes up with 7 Nov. If I go on the website and chose 7 Nov, the website address is different   https://www.roh.org.uk/seatmap?performanceId=56223

That’s strange. I copied and pasted the link from September 30!

edited to add that your web address must be the November 7 one. This doesn’t explain why the September 30 link brings up November 7. The ROH website clearly has a mind if its own!

If it's going to be £26 to stand in the stalls circle then I'm dreading finding out how much it's going to cost those of us who want to sit in the stalls circle....

Last time I looked the cheapest row C side stalls circle were ‘only’ £52. Weren’t they considerably more for Beauty and Cinderella?

I can't believe this. It seems the tickets I normally buy in the Amphi, which I had assumed were in the £52 price band, are in fact £67! Way more than last year for any 3-acter. Do they think the magic words 'Carlos Acosta' mean they can charge unlimited amounts? Or is Nutcracker similarly priced? I can't see those prices.

I just checked and, assuming you sit in the centre block, for Nutcracker, rows J-L are £68 and rows M-R are £50

  6. Just received from Australian Ballet:

"As a valued supporter, we write to you with reference to a matter you may have seen mentioned recently in media or social media commentary: the negotiation of a new Enterprise Agreement for our dancers.

First and foremost, please be assured that The Australian Ballet regards its dancers as our greatest asset, and they continue to be treated with the utmost care and support. We invest heavily in our dancers’ physical and mental wellbeing, and through our world-renowned health facilities, provide optimal care and support to ensure they have extended and fulsome careers with the company and beyond.

Since September 2022, the company has held ten good faith bargaining meetings with Dancer representatives - including the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (Union) - to update the recently expired Australian Ballet Dancer’s Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023 (‘Agreement’). Considerable progress has been made towards a new Agreement with agreed enhancements in several key areas including performance and rehearsal schedules, rest days, and livestreaming performance fees. We are continuing to work towards an agreement on the final level of wage increase our dancers will receive, which is clearly a sensitive issue given the cost-of-living increases that all Australians are experiencing.

The wage offer we have made to our dancers would see them receive a 5.3% increase over what they were paid in 2022, once a new Agreement is adopted. Over a three-year period, our dancers would receive a minimum 11.3% salary increase, with potential for further increases under a capped CPI clause offer. This proposal is more generous than recent wage offers or finalised agreements in peer dance organisations, and it comes at a challenging financial time for our company with the closure of our home theatre in Melbourne from 2024 to 2026. We continue to await the union’s formal response to the offer before the dancers.

A further matter we feel requires clarification relates to some public commentary regarding dancer wage cuts in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. The facts are that in 2020, The Australian Ballet performed just 9 of 155 planned mainstage shows due to pandemic disruptions, with box office revenue dropping from $32 million to $1 million. Nevertheless, dancers received a 2.5% wage increase effective from 1 February 2020, worked reduced hours and ultimately received 82% of their normal salary across the year. This was a good example of the company and dancers working together to find a solution to one of the greatest challenges The Australian Ballet has ever faced.

Please be assured negotiations with dancer representatives are continuing. We look forward to concluding a new Enterprise Agreement that provides clarity and sustainability for both parties going forward, particularly as we continue to recover from the losses of the pandemic and navigate the challenges of the next few years when the temporary closure of Arts Centre Melbourne (our home theatre) for renovation poses further financial strain."

They are back up on the site (at the moment). Not all seats have prices and there is no drop box for the date.

The prices that are there are exactly the same as they were before.  The price tiers are again the same as the opera price tiers and SCS are still £26 (as opposed to £12 for Nutcracker)and front side amphitheatre are still £52 (as opposed to £32 for Nutcracker) Let's hope they just haven't got around to modifying them.

I have just been watching the trailer for the Australian's ballet's live stream, and noticed that in the couple who are dancing Diamonds (not named) she is taller than him on pointe.

Assuming you were watching the trailer that came with the email publicising the live stream, the dancers in Diamonds are Ako Kondo and Brett Chynoweth.  According to the published casting, they're currently scheduled to be the lead dancers in Rubies rather than Diamonds so maybe the casting has changed since it was published.

Ooh, do you mind disclosing what the discount is and which performances, Alison? As usual, they haven’t sent me anything (despite booking three shows for this booking period) although I now have two friends who would/might be interested in buying tickets and coming along had the offer been sent to me. I haven’t seen this production yet (tickets are for the last part of the run) but since they haven’t contacted me, I think my friends might pick the Glyndebourne production of Dialogues des Carmelites or the LSO Paradise & the Peri instead......

The offer wasn't sent to me as I already have tickets but a friend has forwarded the offer to me:

Many thanks @oncnp - I haven’t received an email but does your email suggest that DonQ tickets won’t be on sale at 9:00 tomorrow morning? I thought at one stage there was a suggestion that the booking date for DonQ for Premium 2 Friends had been put back 24 hours.

The full email to Premium One Friends:

We are emailing to inform you that performances of Don Quixote will not be available for booking tomorrow (28 June) due to a technical issue, and will remain off sale until further notice. All other Main Stage and Linbury Theatre performances will open for booking at 9am.

A separate on-sale for all performances of Don Quixote will be announced in due course.

We are working to resolve the issue and apologise again for this situation.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Many congratulations to all.  I hope that next year Francesca Velicu gets a promotion to First Soloist and that Ken Saruhashi also gets up to Principal.

..........and what about Katja Khaniukova?  She's a supremely talented dancer who, in my opinion, is easily as good as the current principal dancers.  I will never understand why she consistently gets overlooked for principal roles.

Edited to agree with Sim's wishes for Francesca Velicu and KenSaruhashi.  Both deserve to be promoted.  I'd also like to congratulate all those who've been promoted

  12. I think PeterS has worked out the problem. Taking amphi prices as an example, the pricing  is exactly the same as the opera pricing with rear side amphi £36 and front side amphi £52. For ballet they’re normally the same price . Similarly, as for opera,  the very back row in the amphi  (W) and most upper slips are the same price as SCS whereas for ballet, they have a higher price band than SCS

Edge, Chrome, incognito, cleared cache, cleared cookies (twice), rebooted computer. Everything else seems to be working except DonQ (the only ting I want to see)

Since I can't get Safari on my PC, I just downloaded the Opera browser and the Don Q seating plan is showing on there (with its exorbitant and, hopefully, incorrect prices) It's still not showing on Chrome and Firefox.

Edited to add that it's now showing on Edge as well

I’m not a Premium friend, I was just looking at ticket prices. I’m wondering if they’re correct or not as SCS for DonQ are £26 !!

I've just managed to get the ticket prices on Safari and the front side amphi (some of which are very restricted but were, nonetheless,  priced at £34 for Cinderella and Beauty) are priced at £52!  That's surely a mistake.

  15. 4 minutes ago, PeterS said:

Yes it’s up with some scary pricing!

What browser are you using?  I'm not able to book yet but, although the usual seat map comes up for other productions, I get a blank page for Don Q on both Chrome and Firefox.  On Safari I get the filter headings but no seat map.

  16. 1 hour ago, oncnp said:

As @Bluebird mentioned on the other thread, the seat maps are on the website except for me they're not. Everything coming up blank. ROH says no  problems on their end.

is this just me or is anyone having problems?

As I've just posted on the 23/24 season announcement thread, they've now removed all the seat maps.  They must be having problems with them.

The seat maps showing the prices for Autumn productions are now on the ROH website but, currently, there's a fault with the Don Q pages.  Let's hope they fix it soon.

Not only have they not fixed the Don Q pages, they've now removed the seat maps from the other productions.  It's presumably still a work in progress.
