    So important to have comfortable shoes for dancing so probably worth paying extra. Just waiting for our kit list for September then we will see what we need to buy.

    Thanks for the update on DaDAs, had been wondering what was happening there. I was going to email about the tours but you’ve answered that too. Just have to pick a date now.

    I saw the tours advertised on their website & although dd has attended summer school there twice thought it still might be a good idea to visit. As Dancers Dad says it would make sense to view the accommodation at the same time.

    It really is a great article. Before Christmas I was encouraging my dd to apply there for this September but it just wasn’t on her radar. She couldn’t really say why she didn’t want to apply there & I didn’t want to push it but I do think it would have been a good choice for her.

    Sounds positive. I’m sure she will find something suitable for your dd. She seems to be fully aware of the need to place NBS students together.

    Hi Twinkle & welcome to the Forum. Does Medlock not have any rooms available now or was it your preference to apply to Dwell? It does appear that those of us posting on here with first years starting in September have rooms booked at Medlock. It might be worth speaking to Eszter at Medlock (her contact details are on the accommodation list provided by NBS) if you haven’t already done so as she is very helpful. Good luck with getting it sorted.

    Glad you’ve got sorted. It does sound as there will be quite a few now in Medlock. I’m sure they will soon get to know each other despite being on different floors.

    It took a few days for us to get the forms through & then received details of accommodation. Eszter did apologise for how long it had taken. She has to get permission from her manager to allocate the rooms.

    That’s good to know as dd is desperate to find out who she’s going to be sharing with.

    😂Love the sign saying no dancing! My dd has been offered a room on the fifth floor in Block B.

    That all sounds reassuring. I was just a bit concerned that not many NBS students were going to be in Medlock this September but think they will be fine.

    Thanks DancingShoes. Good to know you heard by 1st April. We havn’t had any paperwork to complete yet from NBS yet so guess it will take longer for us.

    Thanks glowlight. The ages don’t bother my dd as she will be 19 when she starts but good to know there is a mix of ages.

    Thank you Mjdb. I spoke to Eszter last week & she wasn’t able to tell me what year my dd would be sharing with but today when she sent confirmation said the girls were older. It’s a shame that there isn’t someone who can coordinate bookings for first years so they can all be together. If they are all in different accommodation it will be much harder for them to get to know each other as there won’t be much opportunity during the day.

    First time posting. My dd has been offered a place for NBS too & we are awaiting information regarding dada funding. Those of you whose dds are already at NBS do you recall when the application forms were sent out? Dd has been allocated a room at Medlock House but we’ve been told she will be sharing with three girls older than her. She is already 18 so presume these other girls are 2nd or 3rd years. The fifth room hasn’t been allocated yet but hopefully will be allocated to a first year as she’s not really keen on sharing with girls that already know each other as she feels it will be difficult to join in an established group. She really wants to share with other first years. The dilemma is whether to stick with Medlock & hope a first year takes the fifth room or move to Mill Point & hopefully be with other first years. Hope that makes sense!
