  1. I saw this on Facebook yesterday, a bit of a wait but I am looking forward to it already.

We're excited to announce MADDADDAM, a new ballet from Wayne McGregor inspired by the works of Margaret Atwood with music by Max Richter.  The ballet will be premiered by The National Ballet of Canada this November, and have its UK premiere with The Royal Ballet in 2022

This program is now available on demand so I hope you all can see and enjoy. Available until March 31, 2020

Also the whole farewell performance was broadcasted here in Japan. She was incredible given that she was 54 at her retirement, and it was so touching to see her with Irek Mukhamedov and Federico Bonneli.

Yes and her new season will open with Sir Peter Wright's Swan Lake. Here is the whole program of her season at National Ballet of Japan.

How fantastic to see the whole farewell performance.

It looks like a great season with NBJ.

    Nureyev

Documentary. An intriguing look at the extraordinary life of Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev by the BAFTA-nominated directors Jacqui and David Morris. The film throws light on the unusual journey of the artist who had a humble beginning and thereon, reached the pinnacle of fame.

    Film Documentary

Sunday 23rd February on Sky Arts from 3:00pm to 5:10pm

Also Wednesday 26th February on Sky Arts from 6:00am to 8:10am

Was it well-attended, Janite?  I just love the publicity poster but wasn't tempted to actually go.

It was pretty full. People around me were saying that it was not what was expected but that they liked it.

While it is a work with flaws, (due I imagine to the serious illness of Kibwe, the director, half way through) I came away moved and I definitely plan to see more of Rambert's work.

Also, while I do not do well with loud music but the ear plugs worked very well.

Really enjoying this afternoon's Triple Bill but can someone help mw out with casting?  I recognise most of the principals but not all of the others and Sky doesn't show the cast until right at the end (and then the picture is usually minimised to make room for trailers).

    is this it?

Glad you enjoyed it, I did too when I saw it last time it was showed.

Do you have the date, is it at the end? Then it could be searched for on the web.

I think when I watched it I took photo's of the cast list at the end and then I could refer back to them.

That's interesting.  The Friday screening is on the screen guide but not on their website.  In fact, there's very little on the website, apart from pictures.  You'd think a media company would try a little harder to keep their customers informed.

I agree it could be so much better. I wonder if the Friday showing is not on the wesite yet as it is over a week away?

This is the link I use to search Sky Arts for ballet shows. I can't remember how I got hold of it. Sometimes it goes a little funny and doens't work for 24 hours but it always seems to come back.

Many thanks for the heads up on this one.

It is a pleasure and I am so glad you enjoyed it. I enjoy being able to share the experience.

As I am new to ballet I had not come across Mikayo before and I found her dancing entrancing.

I imagine this is one I will keep and watch again.
