Never give up hope... I’m sure I read on here a girl got a no for JA every year and ended up in White Lodge!!!
Your dd has done an amazing job to get this far.. and if it’s a “not yet“ use this as fuel to keep going , keep working and keep improving until the next time. If she wants it that much, she shouldn’t give up 😊xxx

Thank you, yes she will definitely keep going! 🥰 she’s looking forward to her experience at white lodge whatever the outcome! And yes I heard that story too so there’s always hope! Xx

Unfortunately not, but they do a waiting list too. Some they offer MA’s to will decline and go to Elmhurst so that may free up some space too. It’s such a shame they are such small classes compared to junior associates

Yes and also surely the ones that have been JAs previously would usually get first look in? X

From my understanding there are very few mids places available and also depends on which centre you are at. I think they put year7-year 9 together so each year it only opens up a handful at each centre. Usually those who got to WL finals but didn’t get selected are in the running first for Mids places .. that’s how I’ve always understood it .

Thank you. I was worried you might say that about the classes! I didn’t know whether they had a class for each year or not. So as you say there’s probably not a lot of year 7 spaces 😩

  4. A bit of a change of subject but would anyone know how many spaces will be open on the Mid associate classes in year 7? Do all the JAs have to apply again or do they automatically carry on to the mids? My DD is not a JA, I’m wondering what the chances of her being offered mids is and whether there is only a few places or whether a whole new class opens up? Xx

    Thank you Cotes du rhone.

I think the decision will be made for DS as we’ve heavily limited ourselves anyway (and he’s fine with that).
The testing is proving a major a barrier too and with WL knowing about the postcode lottery on LFTs and not allowing affordable/reasonable alternatives, there’s a high chance we might not even make it there.

They did say though that if you can’t make it there in person it won’t take your child out of consideration and they’ll decide another way x

I’m not against assessing out. I’m against taking children with the attitude “we’re not sure but hey, we can always get rid of them”. That’s how the suggestion read to me.

I really don’t imagine that’s their way of thinking. They take the selection process very seriously as we know, the school and associates are extremely and notoriously difficult to be accepted into. I’m certain they are hopeful that everyone they choose will  succeed but obviously mistakes are made in any area of life xx

I’m wondering if it’s 14 in the morning and 14 in the afternoon if it could be Friday 2 lots of 14, Saturday two lots of 14 then one Sunday afternoon session as it’s harder getting trains to arrive in time as the first train is later. Which would put the number at 70 for the girls -just a theory of course 🤣

Yes that is a good theory and I hope you’re right! Less is better 🤣

can say, however, that we are aiming for no more than 7 students per class, with a maximum of 14 students in the building at any one time. There will be thorough cleaning undertaken in between groups and all staff will be tested, as we have asked all participants to be.

Hmm so do we think that means there’s 14 in each of the half day sessions and they go in in 2 groups, or just 7, and the 14 is the crossover of groups? Am I overthinking? 🤣 if there was only 7 per half day that’s considerably less than expected, but then the over seas candidates are coming separately arnt they.  X

Just make sure that the results are officially reported and you get a certificate. I have phoned a few places local to me that offer rapid Antigen testing but they just tell you the result rather than getting an official report confirming it!

Yes thanks for saying that, I need to check that we’ll get a certificate from the free testing site. I will call them today x

  10. We are lucky, I’m in a place where they are offering free lateral flow tests but I don’t want to book it yet as we havnt had a confirmed date. There’s 3 possible dates for the girls. They did say on the interview email today that we’ll know ‘shortly’ so I’m sure will be Thursday or Friday x

Hotels are open for education purposes and you are also allowed to travel for education.  I am sure an Audition for secondary school would be counted as education.  Fingers crossed anyway, I am hoping that dates will be as planned and that children will definitely be able to dance face to face.

    Sounds promising 🤞

Wondering what WL will do regarding those travelling for audition. According to road map you can’t travel out of your area till 29th March... plus no overnight stays till May it looks like. I expect we will get an updated email this week but wouldn’t be surprised if dates are moved.

Yes that’s true I didn’t really think about that 🤔 they could move the dates back but it’s getting late they’ll need to make decisions soon. I hope we hear from them by the end of this week x

Can I just check with everyone who accepted the White Lodge Finals email, when you completed the online form and accepted did it just say the auditions team will be in contact.  I was just wondering whether anyone had received email confirmation that you had confirmed the place.  It just seems too simple to tick a box and submit.

Yes I was expecting to have a form to fill in but it was just a yes or no box and that was that. Havnt heard anything since but hoping we will hear soon now that Boris has made his announcement and things are more clear! X
