Yes the extended young dancers class is only at Elmhurst school in Birmingham. On their website it says that applications will open in the spring term. Xx

Does anyone know with the Mid associates places whether they will be based on the original video audition or the white lodge audition or will they factor both in? Is it the same people that decide for both? I’m assuming that’s why they filmed them? I sadly have told my DD I don’t think a MA place is likely based on the fact she didn’t have the physio checks others mentioned. I just didn’t want her to get her hopes up as yesterday was awful for her. She felt that the audition had gone really well and she’d had a compliment from the artistic director too. But it seems clear they had decided no on her before the physio
Maybe because she danced first they felt they didn’t need to check certain things if they could see it in the class. Or maybe they were rushing. I don’t think you should read anything in to it XX

The email said there was 150 at the finals, that covered all years including upper school. Is that more then usual? X

I just want to say it’s so helpful to hear on here the other perspectives on this. I was a dancer, albeit not for long, so I do understand a lot of this, but it’s still easy to get blinkered into thinking a yes or no for WL is make or break, so thank you. Deep down I didn’t want to send her off boarding, and she’s so close to her sister, I was really worried about the potential impact on her too.
Yes even though a yes would have been amazing I do feel grateful that I don’t have to make that hard decision on whether to send her away boarding. X

Yes I’m glad we know sooner than later. Lots of girl nos on here sounds like an incredibly high standard as they said on the email. They are all superstars to get to the final. And again a big well done to all the yes’s
Yes and the high standard only goes to show the amount of work they’ve all put in over lockdown! X

Wait list is amazing and it’s not uncommon to get a place. Maybe they have placed a few waiting lists until they see the DC who weren’t able to make the auditions.
Yes that seems like a good possibility x

Results are out, it’s wait list for my DS! I know he will be upset but it is definitely a lesson in resilience x
Congrats! Waitlist is a great achievement and a place may become available 🤞

Ooh, maybe there were multiple cameras so they can watch the audition back. I mean, it would make sense to do that.
Tbh , I always thought they’d know straight away who they wanted and didn’t want and that the decisions for them would be easy but with the camera there it makes you think they’ll look back again at the classes. Or maybe they will just look back at the videos if they’re finding it hard to choose between certain DCs. Either way, it makes me nervous 🤣
I wonder if they grouped them together in anyway or just randomly put them together?

Yes I asked my DD after reading this and she said yes there was a camera in between the judges. 🤦♀️ The information they leave out! I just know I’m not getting even half of the story lol! She also said that they said they might recall some of them but didn’t. X

Yes, we went at the weekend and I’m hopeful for results before the Easter weekend. It hasn’t stopped me refreshing my emails from yesterday even though I know they won’t come until next week 🤦♀️🤣

Do you mean for upper school ? Quite possibly
I’m not sure about upper school but I think year 8 and 9 auditions are this weekend x

It’s the older years auditions at the weekend, do you think they’ll wait until all auditions are done and then send all the results out? X

Completely newbie here! My daughter has final audition at White Lodge for year 9 on Friday...after obsessively reading all this thread (every 10 minutes updating it!! ), just wondered how many other year 9 are going on Friday or likely to be there? Also will the audition and physio check follow the year 7 entry (ie no impro requested etc)? Any hints appreciated. She is not a JA and this is her first audition
thank you for this feed - love reading all the experiences
I don’t have any info about the year 9 auditions I’m sorry! But good luck for your daughter on Friday 🤞 xx

Painful waiting isn’t it! (we only went yesterday! 🤣). I got a bit more info from dd this morning, as well as bending fingers back in the physios appt, she also had to reach forward to the floor (sort of roll down I think). But she also said they did frogs lying on their back in the audition, and also splits, so I guess some of the physical assessment happened then. She’s sure it’s going to be a no, which I guess is the better way around if it is, less disappointing.
Yes my DD also said all of this. I do hope it’s not too long until we hear. And then if it’s a no another wait for the MA results 🥴

yes but I suppose that wasn’t taking into account any who couldn’t make it
It would have been taking that into account because it was sent after everyone had accepted or not. It was on the email with the dates and times of the audition so they knew who was going and who wasn’t. Maybe they will decide and then save some spaces for international and zoom candidates. 🤷♀️

Looks like we will still be waiting a long time as one of the boys who couldn’t make finals still hadn’t heard how they plan to view him.... think this is going to be very long and drawn out. They have to see the international students on zoom too
They did say on the finals information email that we would hear within 2 weeks though...

I hope not! ☹️ DS doesn’t have flat turnout and I’m not sure he’ll ever achieve fully flat (he’s flexible but not at all hypermobile according to the weird tests I’ve seen online: elbows, toes, thumb etc).
I hope we can get some sort of feedback. I’m sure I’ve read that teachers can ask but parents can’t - will ask ours.
I’m not sure if hypermobility is agood or bad thing for them. It obviously means flexibility but also that some joints might be more prone to injury so who knows what they’re looking for? They might like it in some places and not others 🤣

Do you think it’s different people deciding on the mids places?
