    Just wanted to say hello.

My dd also accepted an offer for September today. We hadn't wanted to get our hopes up for a Dada and with another dancer studying at a conservatoire it would have been  push but thankfully it's worked out.

She is also 16 but we live close enough for her to commute. I'm a bit worried that she will find it harder to make friends as she wont be living with the other girls? Anyone else have experience of commuting?

    Thank you

Congratulations to both of you. We don't have personal experience but over half of my dd's year live at home.

I wouldn't worry too much about your dd being in a flat with older NBS students.  As a small school they tend to mix a lot with those from other year groups in any case.  The older ones will help to show the younger ones the ropes.

Also with NBS you can't assume that older necessarily means they are 2nd and 3rd years.  When DD started they were all 1st years in her flat - she was 16, 2 18 year olds, 1 19 year old and one who was 25.

I agree with the mix of ages, there is quite a wide range in my dd's year too.

Due to the covid situation they haven't had the chance to mix with the older years this year as they've been kept in their bubbles. Hopefully that will improve from September.

We had our dada offer on 1st April so it shouldn't be too long.

  3. Hi,

My dd is in New Medlock this year and has decided to stay next year too.

She has friends in Dwell and they are moving across to New Medlock in September. The Dwell flats are quite small and only have a small space to eat in the kitchen. I have a direct number for someone at New Medlock who was really helpful in sorting out a flat for next year, I will dig it out and pm it to you in the morning.

Hi thank you.. yes this is an option but she doesn't really want to pursue ballet anymore, I believe one of my daughters friends from her current Highland school is going to KS x

Might be worth speaking to them as there have been some changes over the summer. The jazz focus is very musical theatre based x

Yes, I was referring to dance schools. Dd has a place at NBS. I've since found the accommodation is run by Unite, who seem fairly flexible on dates, although I haven't read the small print yet.

My dd is starting at NBS in September, I have managed to speak to them about accommodation if you'd like to pm me 🙂

  7. I have 2 Degas leotards for sale both size T2 style 9501

One is I think Grenat (a dark red) and has hardly been worn - £25

The other is I think Turquoise (a pale aqua) and has has an extra lining sewn in to stop it being so see through. It's only hand sewn so will come out easily if needed. Slightly more worn but not much - £20

Postage added separately. Can send photos if needed
