  1. Interested to know how people think about the Disney Madu short film……lovely to see someone given this chance…however does this take over focus to other well deserving and talented DC’s….How does the artistic director focus and differentiate the success of all DC’s over the personal exposure of what this story can bring to them and there own standing?
  2. Finally, I hope this could be the tipping point that has been waiting for many years and provide a voice to people who still feel impacted and conditioned to keep silent. I am hopeful that there will be a shift in the ability to feel confident to speak out without any form of come back or jeopardy . Pastoral care is equally as important and should also come under as much scrutiny as any element of our child’s vocational care, having bitch Wednesdays when you could share open thoughts about any of your fellow students which was run and are organised by house parent (and house parents also sharing their thoughts) is not exactly a good example do you think?
  3. Hi grumpybearzuk Just wanted to say that you and DD are definitely taking right decision…if you have a great local teacher, you will have significantly more chance of getting personal development than you would at vocational school. Parents and children embark on this journey that has massive commitment, impact and investment of your child's future, education, time and finances. However you have to ask what information is available to help give you an informed decision. I just wish vocational schools would be more transparent with their performance indicators for dance…..what percentage of students in associates get scholarships/places into year 7, what percentage of these remain in upper school, what percentage of students in year 11 remain in upper school, etc. I think if your were to know these you would be even more certain that this is the right course for you and DD…..good luck.
