  1. Does anyone know if any year 7 girls have had multiple offers from different schools who were offered elmhurst x

Sorry can't help with this but your question led to me wondering how many Hammond finalists will have been offered places else where and will no longer attend the audition as surly places will have to be accepted at other schools before the Hammond audition even happens!! Makes you wonder how many were offered finals and how many will be attending, hmmm the mind does like to ponder to questions I guess we will never know the answer too lol :D

  2. I think there are quite a lot of people's hopes now pinned on the Hammond final next month!! Does anybody know how many there normally are at the audition?

So sorry to everyone receiving their no for nows, I know what a heartbreaking position it is to be in, but if you decide to continue down this route then rest assured that it does seem easier in year 8, I think because you know how to manage your expectations a bit better along with the fact that you know the chances of a year 8 place becoming available are so slim, it definitely makes the whole experience a lot less stressful!!

Huge congratulations to all the yes' and best of luck to those still waiting on results ????????????

  3. Does anyone know how the reserve list works, how many are on it? Is it likely to still get a place ?

I know of two people who got into year 7 at Elmhurst from the reserve pool so no more use of the sad face emoji as you are still very much in the running and stand a fair chance of getting offered a place, and reserve list is an exceptional result x

  4. Just wanted to share there has been some movement on the tring mds list and my dd has now been offered a place, all in shock!

Awww balletqueen what wonderful news!! Huge congratulations to your dd, do I remember rightly that your dd was going for year 9?

  5. What a lovely story and a massive achievement for your daughter!! BRB is a fantastic company and actually is the only company me and my dd have ever seen!! I think there is no set path to the end goal and we all have to do what is best suited to our children, who they are, how they work etc and if it's meant to be it will be!! I hope your daughter is very happy at the BRB, you must be incredibly proud and maybe me and dd will be watching her one day :)

  6. Follycat your story is a perfect example of looking at the bigger picture and thank you so much for sharing it with us!! May I ask did your dd go to vocational school at all or was she locally trained then, only asking as you only mentioned year 7 and US auditions :)

  7. Congratulations to those with a yes, what lovely news and I'm sure your going to have some very happy children this evening!!

And to the no's, don't let it full your sparkle, remember it's only a no for now and only for that particular school, good luck to those with results still to come and audition still to attend xx

Taxi4Ballet & Lema ....yes can't help feeling the whole process is a little cruel. My DS has been lucky enough to have 4 finals which you would have some hope of an offer somewhere, but I'm not so sure now !! For him to get so close and come away with nothing knowing that if we had the money he could have gone to Tring or Hammond will be really hard on him and us as parents. Nevermind, have always taught him to "keep on trying" ......and he's gone to bed a bit more cheerful bless him xx

Ballet4boyz it is a heartbreaking situation to be in, last year dd auditioned for Tring, Elmhurst and WL, she was offered a place at Tring with funding audition and made it to finals for WL and Elmhurst, and in the end she never secured funding and got no's from WL and Elmhurst, we went from being on a real high, getting our hopes up (just a little as we knew that finals didn't secure a place and the odds were still against us) to being on a real low and not really understanding what to make of the situation. But my dd has knuckled down and kept on going and now this year (year 8) we have found ourselfs in a similar situation she had a yes from Hammond and Tring with funding auditions, didn't secure the funding at Tring so all hopes are on Hammond now!! But if that's a no too then at least we are secure in the knowledge that she kept on trying and she is good enough to go, it's just unfortunately we are not wealthy enough to afford the fee's.....but that has nothing to do with their ability, and that's something to make sure they understand, especially when facing other auditions, the no isn't a "your not good enough" it's a "mommy and daddy aren't rich enough" lol, their ability secured them a place, end off, and they really really need to understand that to help keep their confidence up for other auditions.

Glad you ds has cheered up a little, they do get over it and it's good to allow them that time to be sad and then we can say right onward and upward now!! Best of luck for Elmhurst and Hammond ????

  9. Yep good luck tomorrow Dancefantic, Poor DD no wonder she is short tempered at the mo. It is a stressful time!

Lema, glad you finally got your letter from Tring. Who knows there may be movement on the reserve list soon as they have to say yes or no by Friday and those who are going for Royal may well say no!

And me Amos, was starting to think it had gone missing!! Fingers crossed there is some movement and some of our lovely balletco dc get a late offer.

  10. Just wondered if girls at white lodge final tend to wear JA leotard if they are JAs or do they usually wear another plain colored one?

Last year my dd wore her JA leotard and tracksuit as did all the other JA's from her class, and I noticed quite a few others wore theirs who must have been from the other centres too.

  11. Hi everyone , just changing the subject away from Tring for the moment ....... my DS is lucky enough to have a final audition with RBS this Thursday. On the schedule for the day it gives the candidates a short time to get changed into their dance wear - wearing a track suit etc over the top. I'd planned to send my son already underchanged & wearing a nice tracksuit to begin with .......figuring if he attends like this - it's less for him to think of later in the morning but also a bit more of a casual regime he's used to with other auditions. I've since wondered if most of the other children will arrive very smartly dressed in more formal clothes & don't wish my son to feel a little too casual ......... I must admit, the more suited & booted he is - it tends to add to his nerves !!! Can anyone 'in the know' advise me on the dress code for arrival or is it not really important as long as his tracksuit is acceptable . Thanks v much x

My dd auditioned last year and went under changed with a tracksuit on as did most other children, I think I saw one or two in leggings/jeans but the vast majority were in a tracksuit. Best of luck to your son, he will have a lovely day at White lodge :)

  12. Lovely post pointe-less and we should all be very proud of our dc, what they have done and gone through is amazing and something I certainly couldn't do!! I think it's easy to just see it as a "they got a no" and you forget that actually it's a yes, they were offered a place and they are good enough to attend that school, there just wasn't enough funding to go round that's all, huge massive Well done everyone X

  13. Ah okay thanks Harwel that makes sense as when you accept your invitation to finals if you want to accept the place outright the fee is £2450, I just wasn't sure reading the last few posts if that fee was carried forward if a place was offered after funding audition. £900 seems a much more feasible amount for someone who needs the help of a mds in the first place!!

  14. We really like it there too Piccolo, dd always feels really comfortable there which I think is very important! And I hope and pray you are right although I fear the odds are against us, as with everyone else, and we will probably be one of the 54 no's, but fingers crossed as you never know, but not getting our hopes up!
