  1. Hi! I'm desperate to try the pointe shoe by wear moi out its called "la pointe" I cannot find any shops that have it. I even went to the wear moi warehouse yesterday they claimed they have it I got there and they told me only the France warehouse does! Planetdance didn't have my size so I've ordered but need to wait 4 weeks. So my question is: does anyone here know of any shops in the UK that stock it?! Thanks!
  2. Linda is very good yes. I even went on the grishko fitting course she teaches.
  3. I go to the shops in London sometimes even on a weekly basis. It's very hit and miss at them all depending who you get. I personally hate Bloch the most. However, dancia is pretty good especially if you get emma or an American girl I can't remember her name... Capezio have a few great fitters and capezio pointe shoes are a lot better than they used to be. Capezio also stock Suffolk brand but only selected styles such as spotlight, solo, ensemble. Freed are hit and miss for me. They seem to always want to put my tapered toes into a square box shoe! They even sold me a shoe that was completely not right for me. Plus I find freed off the rack styles break down faster. Sansha are quite good and stock kh Martin, capulet and other brands aswell as sansha. Small shop but sometimes great fitters.
  4. I have just uploaded a new video showing how to harden pointe shoes using shellac and glue. Hope it helps
  5. I have a pair of grishko triumph pointe shoes for sale. I have worn them for about 10 minutes not in class but tried on. They are size 4.5 width X and come up wider than other grishkos so if you wear XX I'd suggest X. They are sadly not right for me. Happy to post anywhere or you can collect from me in Essex or London. Thanks
  6. Does anyone here have a leg length difference? I've had sciatica in the past, bad hip pain etc. seen doctors, physios and even a great specialist. Had inner soles made for my walking shoes but nothing has helped. I still get the hip pain (in the leg that is longest). Ballet and Pilates actually help. However there are certain ballet moves especially stuff en pointe that I find harder because I feel my hips are wonky lol. Chaine turns en pointe especially difficult as I constantly feel wonky and unable to keep my balance for long. I'm interested to see how other dancers cope with a leg length difference. I was offered cortisone injections in my right hip but I decided not to due to the side effects etc. I was also told my right hip has a more shallow socket. I have a very tight piriformis Muscle on the right side too... No stretches etc seem to loosen it. I'm considering going to an osteopath? I saw a chiropractor but it was all a lot of nonsense for me personally.
  7. I would really like to try Russian Pointe brand. I don't think anywhere in the UK stocks them? It's such a shame regarding Grishko... (I'm the girl who has been emailing you the one based in Laindon down the road who also hates the fact *that* shop near us that only stocks limited grishko haha)
  8. Hehe yes I know it! I often check it. Very cool isn't it
  9. Anyone here do classes in Essex or London? I take class in Essex but I'm also seeking more classes to attend in either Essex or London.
  10. When I had gaynors I found them hard to sew due to the thick fabric. But I placed my ribbons and elastic in the same way as I do for all my other shoes. Personally I didn't get on with gaynors and neither did they suit my feet... If you are having more issues like Anjuli said, speak to your teacher
  11. @thequays Yes, how funny indeed! Oh cool and yes I'm a total pointe shoe addict too lol. LOL regarding the comments you have been getting! How funny! But yes I can imagine gets tiring having to respond to such idiots! They should be posting comments on the videos where there's 7 year old dancers en pointe not even getting on their box and also commenting on videos where girls are making pointe shoes (yep can you believe it!) and then going en pointe in them! What on earth!
  12. @thequays I just noticed you brought those freed decorated shoes from me on eBay ages ago! wow! I'm glad you like them and love seeing them again!
  13. No problem and thanks been reading these forums for a few years now but never posted before hehe
  14. Hello! I have created a YouTube channel in which I will be posting videos to with information regarding pointe shoes, problems with pointe shoes, info about accessories, etc. I also have a facebook page for it too. I hope this helps some people out and I also take on requests for videos too. I'm basically an adult ballet student (nearly 25) and study B.A.T.D ballet. I have also done the Grishko pointe shoe fitting course. And often help other students get fitted correctly. If you are interested please head on over to: http://www.youtube.com/straighttothepointe http://www.facebook.com/tothepointefitting Thanks Leanne
