  1. Very very sad indeed & shocking my heart goes out to her family
  2. Hi i would agree with the nutrition comment what they eat/drink has a huge impact on energy levels and body performance. i am forever reminding my dd to drink as between school and dancing (which is everyday) its so easy for them to forget to or grab that quick "sugar" rush snack. As well all those massive body changes they are going through at this time. One min happy smiling, then snappy angry, then tears & upset. I'm wore out just watching it. Good nutrition rest and cuddles - good luck with your dd exam keep us posted

  4. It is so lovely to hear the results especially when we have followed you dc journeys. well done to those yes's, fingers crossed for those still waiting and good luck to the no's on your the dancing journey and keep us posted. If anything this forum shows no now isn't no always xx
  5. hi yes if not a separate lyrical section it goes under modern but have to agree with Julie W, it is frustrating that Lyrical isn't included as a separate section in the regionals - why is that.....
  6. So glad you posted this, thanks meadowblythe sounds great
  7. They are touring this autumn 2013 with Snow White - so thought we would try them as dd and I have never seen Snow White as a ballet production. thought I'd have a quick search to see if any have see this company before and hoping above comments will mean this production may suit as well. What is nice is that they do tour the smaller venues which means we can watch a ballet fairly local.
  8. Hi all dd have a lovely time and came back buzzing too - met loads of friends and enjoyed the teaching and the food! This was her first time at a residential so perfect for a first time, , although we can't compare it with anything else so difficult to see if it was better, worst or the same as others. Enjoyed watching the show, meeting the teachers and RP's informative and informal style of presenting to the audience of parents - I liked the way her described it as "not" a performance but a "sharing" of the work they had done. The staff and RP as though they has genuinely enjoyed working with the younger group and spoke of another one next year. - lets hope its a bit longer. Lovely to meet afab and her dd - hope your journey home was good. Now begins the week of the first school term and all the chaos that goes with it... I've loved the holidays so not really looking forward to the "busy" dancing schedule again but i'm sure it won't take long to get back into it, and the summer will seem a long time ago...
  9. hi, yep its my dd first time t something like this too as well excited but nervous, they will love it and make lots of new pals, i'm sure
  10. Hi All - "Time out" are offering Jane Eyre tickets for £25 booked before 6th August. its running at the London Coliseum 14th - 17th August.
  11. Thanks celb, would be really interested to know about Ballet West, as dd looking to go there next year, couldn't this year as current dance school commitments clashed. But booked to go to Elmhurst end of Aug.
  12. Thanks Janet the end dates are perfect and we are going to see Don Q and Giselle, at different venues. I don't why I just didn't post her before. Thanks again
  13. Hi all apart from the major touring company's in London. Does anyone know of any ballet productions else where in the UK for the summer months of 2013. Was hoping to see some ballet/dance with my dd in the summer holidays but can only find them showing in London - is that really the case? We were hoping to do one in London but was hoping for others else where, the summer holidays is the only time we actually have the time to travel and seen them which just isn't the case for the rest of the year. Any suggestions welcome, thanks
