EmilyR
A simple question I can't find an answer to: Should I put suede toe protectors on demi-pointe shoes? I darn the end of my pointe shoes but this is my first pair of demi-pointe/soft blocks and I wasn't sure whether I should glue a set of suede toe end protectors on to them just to make them last longer. Ruby Foo
I’ve never seen toe protectors on soft blocks as it’s just the underside of the shoe that tends to wear away. I guess that you might have them if you’ve broken them down from pointe shoes. Some students do darn them but even that is unusual nowadays.
Anna C
Hi EmilyR ☺️ I agree with valentina; there’s no need to put suede protectors on soft blocks. They have a much softer box and no defined platform like pointe shoes (and you never go en pointe in them) so the ends don’t wear out or fray like pointes.
