Nutcracker-x
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how you can become a dance physio? My guess is that you go down the normal route of training to be a physio then go down the route of specialising to become a dance one? Have no idea though so any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks x
Picturesinthefirelight
Dd is really interested in this. It does seem to be how you say. It seems slightly unfair that the PFA have an agreement/recognised training route for ex footballers but there isn't something similar for dancers. So you need to have science based A levels which arnt always on offer at vocational school.
drdance
Hi, Yes you'd need to do a physiotherapy degree or route to become a Chartered Physiotherapist (MCSP) and then postgraduate study in musculoskeletal physiotherapy or sports injury physiotherapy. Obviously a dance background or dance teaching background also really helps, as does additional training in things like Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique or strength and conditioning.
