As far as I can see you can't place photos in postings directly from your computer. When you click the little Image icon it asks for a URL i.e. the image has to be on the web.
To add this photo I got myself a Photobucket account (free) which seems to give unlimited photo storage. Having uploaded the pic to Photobucket I could then get its URL and use that to insert it here. It's just one extra step compared to uploading it direct but does mean that such photos aren't taking up space in our account.
The formatting facilities here are pretty limited. For instance you can't run text round an image. I've tried putting the pic into a Word document (which does allow runaround) but when that is placed here the image is replaced by an empty box, though the text flow round that is kept. Not what I wanted!

When I tried to sign up to Gravatar, all went well until I tried to log in and then I got repeated messages of "no account exists". Bit sick of battling with it now; so I shall remain as a blank!
Like you I failed to upload a pic but then used Gravatar which worked fine. You need an account with them and then all you have to do is to associate the email address you use here with a photo that you have on your computer or find on the web. When you set up the Gravatar account did you get a confirmatory email with a link to verify it?

For tidiness sake I have moved this topic from where it was languishing unloved in News!

N.B. There is a piece in The Australian about John Neumeier and Hamburg Ballet but I can’t post it as it looks as if that journal has now retreated behind a paywall. Oddly enough a link to Lucinda Childs that I put in yesterday still works fine - go figure.

It's actually just a matter of daring to click a couple of check boxes and hitting the do it button. No skill involved!

Very nice idea. Problem is how do you deliver a cyber-bouquet so that the intended recipients see it. Twitter, Facebook, email the company director?

The RSC performed Ondine as part of it's second season at the Aldwych Theatre in 1961 ... I chiefly remember a delightful performance from the late James Bree as the King (with the formidable Gwen Ffrangcon-Davies as his Queen) and beautiful designs by Tanya Moisewitsch.
That's some memory you have there…!

Is that one simple operation clicking on the "Remember me" button or is there something else to be done? Because I've tried that but every time I close my browser window I seem to automatically logout and have to sign in again when I come back to the site. Maybe it's the browser that's the problem? I use Google Chrome. Thanks for any help, I'm extremely technologically challenged.
I also think an annual subscription payment is the most practical solution.
I've just tried with Chrome and it works for me.

Gosh blow me down .... that's the first compliment I think I've ever seen Clement Crisp give Roberta Marquez !
And when did Mr Crisp last give two 5 star reviews in a row for different casts in the same bill?

Anna I agree. I enjoyed seeing him. He had a convincing presence, acting and mime were excellent (and rather different from usual) but not really cut out to be a nimble and aetherial fairy king.
But oh the sorrow, only one more performance of Song of the Earth to go.
