  1. Yes, she’s currently at Parkway Gate. It’s a lovely flat but the price increase is just too much for next year! I think a lot who are currently living there are moving to Dwell next year. I know there are students already at Dwell so she’s happy that, although her room might not be as nice, there’ll be plenty of people there. Both halls are close to each other though and not much more than a 5 minute walk to NBS.
  2. My daughter will be going into 3rd year and living at Dwell from September. Unfortunately, her flat is already full but I’m sure she’d be more than happy to offer any help or advice if you need it!
  3. Which accommodation have you had a look at? I think that, generally, any private halls with an en-suite will have a shower in them. My daughter will have a shared bathroom next year - there is a separate toilet and shower.
  4. My daughter is at NBS on the jazz focus. She absolutely loves it - I really haven’t seen her this happy! The school supported her through an injury and the physio associated with the school has been fantastic! I hope your daughter has an amazing time there and good luck with the DADA!
  5. My daughter attended The Scholars at Renaissance Arts for a few years - they use the facilities at both Yorkshire Dance and Northern Ballet in Leeds. At the time it was usually alternate Sunday afternoons and she would have both a ballet and jazz class but with optional vocal and pointe classes. Think the audition was late spring/early summer. It was great training, particularly the ballet.
  6. My daughter will be living at Parkway Gate next year. Some in her flat will be under 18 (although not my daughter). When I rang to book her room, the lady I spoke to totally understood putting NBS students together, particularly if they are under 18.
  7. A friend of my daughter lives at Mill Point. He’s not a NBS student but she has been to visit him there. She says it’s really nice and is comparable to the other student accommodation she’s visited (including Parkway Gate, New Medlock and Dwell MSV. Hope that helps!
  8. My daughter is also in the 1st year and absolutely loving it. She thoroughly enjoyed her audition day too. From what I remember, she auditioned on a Saturday and was emailed an offer the following Friday.
  9. My daughter is in year 1 at NBS and is absolutely loving it! I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so happy!! She’s already learnt so much and happily accepts critique as she knows it is to her benefit. Unfortunately she is currently nursing an injury. As a parent I was concerned that there would be pressure on her to continue to dance however I couldn’t be happier with the care she is receiving from the school - they are actively discouraging her from dancing until she knows exactly what the injury is and what treatment she will need. To me, this is as important as the practical side of the course. Good luck with the audition!
  10. We did the same - booked one day, prices had increased the next!
