We have accepted our place on the intensive and the waiting list for company......though looking at the intensive it looks quite good as only 20 in the group!

We’ve done the same and actually wonder if intensive might me more beneficial especially when compare with price.

The emails have arrived this morning. My dd has been given a place on the intensive, and then a waiting list place for the company? Mmmmm not sure what to do? Never done NYB before so no idea about this intensive?

The intensive is a new programme for this year - I think because they have so many applicants in the 13-15 age category. My daughter got the same and we are not sure what to do. My daughter did the junior company in 2022 and loved it (was her first ballet intensive), but especially loved the performances at Crescent theatre and Sadlers Wells.

My daughter (16) from the UK has also been offered a place starting Sept 24. My only concern is the accommodation. I'm hoping to go over for a look around in May

How does the cost compare with UK Upper School?

  4. My daughter did YBS Easter last year and will be going again this year. She was 13 last Easter so classed as a junior. She is 14 now so will

be classed as a senior. I think is based on school years. I know they had a ballet class, rep class and contemporary everyday. They did a performance at the end to parents which was about an hour long. My daughter really enjoyed it last year, made lots of new friends and improved her ballet a lot.

I’ve emailed them. They’ve said they will be sent by the 25th of January.

Oh that’s annoying - I wonder what the hold up is.

  6. NYB have replied and said approx ten 12 year olds in junior company so all good! Been looking up hotels in Birmingham - any recommended?  Though think we will go as cheap as poss in walking distance. We live in London so won’t have that added cost at least. Really excited for my daughter and my mini break in Brum!

  7. Anyone else with a 12 year old (year 7) offered junior company? My daughter did first audition junior, final audition senior but then been offered junior company. She wants to do it regardless but I just wanted to make sure she would have others her age. She doesn’t know anyone going.  Thanks
