  1. My daughter is doing the junior intensive at Rambert, we are about an hour and a half drive away (mostly M25!) so contemplating getting a hotel vs driving in each day. Any advice on hotels nearby or parking nearby?
  2. Pale turquoise junior leotard age 10-12 £9 Dark teal seniors leotard size 2 £11 BBA Jacket age 12 £12 All used but in good condition and prices includes postage x
  3. I’d forgotten about that! Applications stay open, but only to “join the waitlist”. I imagine that makes it even less likely that anyone from the original waitlist will get in, as anyone applying late who would have been good enough for a “yes” will go straight to the top of the waitlist?
  4. Diane Pacific (pale turquoise) BBA leo 10-12 years - £15 (inc postage) BBA warm up jacket age 12 - £18 (inc postage) Both used. Message for photos x
  5. I read it as between 2-4pm. I assume it’s because people are coming from far away? We are aiming for 2pm but if the traffic is bad it could be more like 4pm!
  6. Anyone else with a dancer going to junior summer school? My daughter is going and it’s her first residential. She is starting to get quite nervous, I thought it might help her if she knew someone else that was going?
  7. Has anyone had any info from Elmhurst yet? List of things they need etc?
  8. I’m sure the Junior company is a wonderful experience (apologies if it sounded like I was dissing it! 😊) but because of the cost NYB isn’t something we could do every year. If we can only do it once I think we are better off waiting until she can do it as a senior. As with most of these things I just wish they would be a bit more transparent about the selection process, as I know of several year 7s (and even a year 6s) offered seniors. It just leaves me wondering! If anyone has any insight it would be great to know.
  9. My daughter was offered juniors. She turns 13 in November. We are going to turn it down, as she doesn’t want to be in with the little ones. I can’t imagine it will be the same sort of experience as seniors and given how expensive it is we are going to wait until next year and hope she gets seniors.
  10. Thanks everyone! I think we will just go to the finals and see what happens. It’s an awkward age to be! By the time they do the residential she’ll have finished her first year at secondary and be nearly 13, so won’t want to be in with mostly primary school kids especially if most of the other girls her age have been put in seniors.
  11. So does the final audition they are called for reflect how well they did at the first audition? My daughter is already 12 but has been offered junior company final auditions. Does that mean she didn’t do well at the first audition? Don’t think she’ll be very keen on being the oldest one in with the juniors 😂
  12. My DD did Ballet Boost for a while but sadly had too many other Sunday commitments so we had to give it up. They have some amazing teacher’s, James is particularly good! I don’t think it’s especially over subscribed though so not too competitive for places. They assess them and move them around based on ability rather than age. They don’t push the vocational route but they have extra offerings like workshops, ABA classes etc if you want to go for that. It might be worth doing the audition for the experience and to have a closer look. You don’t have to take the place if you are offered it?
  13. It’s a “no” for us. It’s also the first time we have had professionally photos done. Last time I just took them against the living room wall and last time we got waitlisted.
