Good luck to everyone auditioning at London this week x

My 8 year old daughter is doing her grade 1 istd ballet exam on her own in a week, she is not bothered at all, ( well not at the moment) the reason why she is doing it alone, is that no one else in the class was ready, and instead of holding my dd back till they were ready wanted her to do it alone, Do you think there are any advantages disadvantages of doing it alone? And what's the advantage of doing the exam with others?

Yes I was expecting the weight question as well, not sure why they ask these questions at 8 years old, who knows what they will turn out like, how old is your katycustard, does yours do any other associate programmes?

I am also reading these post, and thinking the same, our audition is next Friday, and my dd is also as "cool as a cucumber"

It says on the rb letter only to get there 30mins before the audition cause of space, what time is your audition, I normally do there hair before we get there, and have there dance wear on under there normal clothes

Don't worry, they are not looking for amazing flexibility, they are looking for the potential to train into good dancers! X

I think it depends on the age of the child, How hold is your dd?

I do wonder with all these negative comments about canvas split sole ballets shoes, and tring have asked for them to be worn by my 8 year old?

My dd has just got into the tring classical ballet academy, and they have put on the uniform list canvas split sole ballet shoes, I have just had a look on line, and they all start at a size 2, but she is only a size 13, anyone know, who does smaller ones?

My dd never got in on the last audition in November, so yes it really is worth trying again! And no there were not many places this time. Thankyou everyone

My daughter auditioned for group 1 and got a yes this morning, cannot wait to tell her, don't think she was expecting a yes so think this will be a shock xx

I'm not feeling very positive after today's audition, my dd auditioned for group 1, there were about 35 in her group, with only about 3 places, just have to wait and see now, good luck everyone else that auditioned x

No my daughter has not auditioned before, and I do agree, that body shape seems to be one of the key factors, even at this very young age. X
