Did either if your dds do the summer school? (Only my ds saw a friend from summer school at the auditions & wondered how she got on)
Which Summer School - my DD did YBSS and Yorkshire Seminars? Very excited here x

My daughter was in this audition and was the one who fainted! She was so upset but on positive they have asked her to come back in Jan to re-audition! She had toothache and on Thursday went to dentist and had a tooth abscess so on strong painkillers and antibiotics! Poor thing as also had tap Advanced 1 tap exam yesterday and had to come out for 5 mins as almost fainted again with the pain!
Best of luck for her in her re-audition and hope her abscess heals quickly x

Gosh, I haven't really dipped into this thread before but now that I have, I just want to send lots of speedy recovery wishes to you Anjuli_bay and hope your surgery is swift and as pain free as possible.
Also, to everyone else who is suffering - hope you find results and remedies soon for full recoveries x

Congratulations Busymum, Lifeafterballet and Danceroo - I'm sure your DDs are going to be jumping for joy when you tell them

Hi - I just saw this message on Facebook from Dance Direct and thought you'd all be pleased to see it too :
Whether you have just recently purchased from us for the first time or you are a long-standing Dance Direct customer – we want you to know that giving you the best dancewear shopping destination, quality products and customer experience is our top priority. That is why our recent issues with a technology upgrade have been so difficult for us – and even more so for you. We sincerely apologise to you for any experience that has not met your expectations and for the difficulty you have had trying to contact us.
In September, we set out to improve our entire internal ordering, transaction, payment and tracking system to prepare for the launch of a new Dance Direct website in 2014. As you may have heard or experienced, we encountered issues during the changeover that caused orders to backup, slow package processing times and delays in refunds.
Our operations are now nearly back to normal and we are focused on addressing all customers who had a less than satisfactory experience due to the changeover. If you are one of the customers waiting on resolution, please be assured that we are working around the clock to resolve it. -
She's gorgeous Katymac - good luck to her for her auditions

Great news

From the info I have for auditions this year, it's bare legs for Hammond, Elmhurst and Royal but tights for Tring (plus jazz pants and shoes for the Modern section).

Good luck everyone

Hi Dtadmin & amber21 I just wanted to say sorry to hear your news but all the best for your dd's future auditions x
Thanks Dancing2003 - I'm not sure which is worse - the flat out "no" that we got, or your "yes, but no funding"....tough both ways eh? Here's hoping our DDs get offers and funding before the audition process is finished this year x

Congratulations to your DD Balletmum16 and good luck for finals x

Thanks Flowerdew - maybe we'll drop them round to you for a technique class while we're in the area!!

Thanks everyone Had a little cry after reading all your lovely comments - didn't cry yesterday - but kindness always brings out the wuss in me!!
Amber, so sorry for your DD .... it's just so tough... but like I said to mine, even if the audition our girls attended at Elmhurst was the only one, not all of them would get a place - and there's still 3 more full days of auditioning just to try and get a Finals place!
So onwards and upwards as they say!!
A Huge Good Luck for those that are still to audition and to those few who make it all the way!

No good news here I'm afraid....we got the dreaded "no" letter today....have had a good chat with DD and she wrapped up the conversation with "well, I just have to work even harder at the rest of the auditions then".
Hubby and I are really disappointed because Elmhurst was our favoured choice due to location - 45-50 mins drive but at least we can forget this one now and concentrate on the remaining 3.... sad though

Those are the longest 10-14 days if your life !
Hope you can distract yourselves and not stalk the postman !
I wanted to like this BillyElliott but I've run out of likes for the day! I think I'll find it really hard

Hi all. How long was the audition? Wondering if DD can cope with 2 auditions back to back in January? One in Birmingham and one in Bristol??? Not the same day I might add, one on one day the other the next.
Hi Fusster
This first audition is only an hour and a half in the form of a ballet class, so depending on the time you get it will either take up the morning or the afternoon but not all day. Your DD should be fine
-
This was just the preliminary audition and parents had a talk and a short tour of the school while the children took their audition class. We'll find out in a couple of weeks whether they're through to the final audition which is in March so still a way to go....:-)

Well, DD enjoyed the audition and said she thinks it went well so now all we can do is wait and see. They told us 10 to 14 days for results.
Thanks for keeping me sane last night everyone - oh and she did go with the feel good if slightly worn canvas shoes

LOL, I'm doing just that Tulip, DD is tucked up, toe nails clipped, finger nails filed, dance uniform laid out and shoes decided on.....I'm sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine
