Has anyone NOT been offered a funding audition for Tring? Just trying to work out why we were offered a place for son but no funding audition?  Is it because DC was not good considered good enough or because our finances are low so maybe we would not be able to contribute enough towards fees?

My understanding is that they ask the most suitable for classical ballet students for the funding audition. There’s such a small amount of funding available it doesn’t mean your son isn’t good enough and they won’t know about your finances yet, so that shouldn’t matter.
well done on your son receiving an offer at Tring, that’s a great achievement although frustrating with out funding.

  2. My dd did it last year.
it’s a performance focused course. Last year they performed in a Birmingham theatre and sadlers wells but this year it is slightly different and more like a summer school with a performance at Elmhurst at the end.

happy to answer any questions but it is a great experience

The lady we spoke to didn’t have that information but I think you can ask.

Anyone have any experience of being on the MDS waiting list and being awarded?
We have prepared D for worst case scenario and she is so disappointed.

Last year my dd was on the wait list for an MDS and did get offered one in July.

In terms of the dadas/bursaries etc if they are offered to somebody who then chooses to attend somewhere else (which I’m sure is quite likely?), do they get passed down to others? Just trying to see if rejected for funding there is still hope/waiting list?

Yes, they have a waiting list and if someone turns it down it gets passed on.

    Sorry, some more detail.

    1. No. Even if you get finals, you can still get a no. I.e. being in the finals do not guarantee you a place in either tour or main company

    2. Absolutely. They make this clear from the outset and you can only miss if auditioning for vocational (off the top of head). Even for exams, they say you should discuss with your teachers as it's not a good enough reason to miss. When you sign up for audition, it says you are confirming that you understand the expectations etc...

Wishing all the best of luck.

Thank you. I meant is every child requested at every rehearsal or some weeks is it just certain parts?

  6. We’ve just heard form Sunday, I’m amazed at how quickly they’ve got the results out!
    May I ask 2 questions

1.does everyone who makes finals get a place on a tour or in the company?
    2. Do you have to attend every rehearsal if successful?

Thanks so much. Very tricky really as it’s a 3 hour time range and from my understanding SAs were sent a specific time quite a few weeks ago.

We’ve been given the times today. Have you?

Has everyone received the emails regarding the new uniform and the online conditioning classes?

Yes I’ve had an email about the new uniform. But not heard about the online classes yet.

    Hi,

My daughter has recently auditioned for both these associate programmes.

We've just heard that she was successful in her BBO Scholars audition and are still waiting to hear from Tring.

If she is lucky enough to be offered both, she will have to choose as the lessons clash.

Does anyone have experience of either? Or both? Which would you choose?

We'd be grateful for any insights and/or advice. Thank you

Did you hear back from Tring?
