The head of my daughters academic state school was delighted that my dd has been offered a summer school place (2nd to last week of term) and said she'd find a code so it could be recorded as education out of school/in another venue or similar so it won't affect her attendance record. Shame other schools couldn't be so understanding. However this is at primary school level, have no experience of secondary education yet!

That's fab snowflake and dizzyballetmum. She's a year 5 10 year old. Just about to collect her from her JA class so will Dm you both later if that's ok, if I can figure out how! I agree would be lovely if they had already made contact in advance xx

Hi all. I've been a forum member for a while but not really commented so newish! My dd was fortunate to be accepted to week 1 SS. She is just 10 and a JA. Just wondering if anyone else is week 1 white lodge? Would be nice if she knew the name of a couple of children due to go there, as no one else in her JA class got a place or applied. She's hoping she'll get to share with someone that speaks English, but I've told her that international students will probably speak better English than her ????! Thanks in advance X

Congratulations everyone- it IS exciting being a JA! Word of advice re the tracksuits..... They tend to come up on the big side! My dd joined Ja's in year 6, so ordered age 10-11 tracksuit- it was enormous ! We opted for age 7-8 in the end.

 

Given that JA's tend to be on the small side, ( and that RBS don't like the tracksuits to be too big, )I find it funny that the uniform sizing doesn't quite match.

Word of warning for the mums /dads/guardians of new JA girls...be prepared for a bit of skirt making.  It came as a shock when I realised I had to make one.  Must say, I did feel proud when it was done

Which centre is your dd starting at? I'm new to the forum too and my dd has a year 5 place in Birmingham? ????

We are new to this forum and dance in general too. My DD started dancing 8 months ago and has just accepted a YR 5 place as a JA. We were asked if we wanted 24/32 sessions on the day and at application stage and we said 24 and that's what was offered.

Would love to hear from any other mums who's children will be in that class.
