  1. My friend said that her daughter had a 1:1 chat with the director and that all the students were spoken to individually before they did their actual solo who watched the whole thing and complimented her afterwards. The girl was thrilled. Dont think many schools take the time to speak with them one by one in the first audition. I think that this is a really good way to get to know each one personally. My friend also said that the head of the school mentioned over 500 auditioning this year.....
  2. If the students are watching when the panel are looking at them, then perhaps they should think more about how they are performing their solos that they have been working on.
  3. thank you for the warm welcome to this forum. Only wish I had known about it earlier! It is good to be in touch with other mums going through the same things. I'd better start by ordering those name tapes!
  4. As the mother of a child who has just been offered a boarding bed on an MDS at Tring Park, I am reading this thread with interest. New to the forum and the roller coaster ride of vocational schools and the stress of auditions, it has been a huge learning curve for me and my daughter. I gather that the school is oversubscribed and there is pressure on boarding beds but I guess that they have ring-fenced enough for the MDS children. I did hear that there are so many boys that have been offered MDS this year that they have fewer beds for boys. There is Tring magic and the staff seem lovely. Anyway, its a beautiful school and we cannot wait for her to start in September. Just thankful we survived the rocky road of auditions to get her there.
