Well I guess I have nothing to loose by asking them directly - I just wondered if I was missing something in the application process. I don't mind loosing £25 or so but it seems mad to perhaps throw away a three figure some. I was approaching it along the lines of good audition experience with an added incentive. I will let you know if I get any information from them.

As the YBS request a hefty registration fee, if you wanted to apply for the scholorship auditions 'just in case' you got lucky I cant see how it is possible to apply without paying out money you could loose? Perhaps you cant? Anyone have any knowledge at all of their system before I start sending emails to YBS?

I do wonder if a larger than usual amount of waiting list places have been offered this year due to the early entries. They usually like to offer SS places to "new intake" students who will be taking up a full time place at the school in September along with some finalists - they obviously wont know numbers/names until after the finals have taken place so I am guessing they are holding a large number of places 'pending' at the moment. Purely my thoughts and speculation - I know nothing, my DD doest even apply for this SS! I wonder if they will prefer this early entry method and continue it in further years. Well done to anyone who has alredy been offered a place and good luck to those waiting.

I thought the whole idea of asking for entries early was because of the demand on hotels etc., in London during the Olympics so surely they should be informing people earlier than last year otherwise there is little point in requesting early entries?
