  1. Hi! I have two RAD character skirts for sale. They are both black, with white, very pale blue, and royal blue ribbons. Details as follows: Skirt no 1: Waist 24", length 22" £10 Skirt no 2: Waist 24", length 26" £15 Skirt no 2 was hardly worn at all, and skirt no 1 was worn to weekly ballet classes for about a year. Please PM me if you are interested. I can let you know postage.
  2. Apologies for asking your advice re a non-dancing DD, but I'm looking for safe and affordable accommodation in the N19 area of London (near Archway tube station) for half term week for an under 18 year old, and I know that some of you will have wrestled with this kind of problem for DDs attending courses. Lots of hostels don't allow under 18s on their own (understandably) and I can't really afford to take the whole family up to London for a week. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very grateful! I have developed a huge respect for the resourcefulness and commonsense of Doing Dance parents, and I'm just hoping someone will have a suggestion. Thanks
  3. I have a MML ballet barre for sale - my daughter has had it for about a year and half, but gave up ballet earlier this year because of injury and it looks like new. You can see it on the website as the Mode home ballet barre. Please PM me if you are interested - I'm selling it for £90. It is easy to unscrew and transport in a car. It would be quite heavy to post, so ideally you need to be in the South Wales area to pick it up.
  4. Just wanted to say good luck to all of you. We are bowing out of the whole ballet scene due to injury, so I just want to say how much I have appreciated the kindness and support shown to me, and to say that I hope all goes well for your lovely DDs, and DSs. The ballet world is a tough one, and this is a really helpful forum. Hope all those waiting have good news, and quickly! xxx
  5. Fingers crossed for all those trying - I think it is really difficult to 'read' these auditions. Sometimes they can appear to spend more time on the ones they are unsure of, so I think Kiwimum's DD should try not to worry - they may have decided quite early on that they wanted to see her at finals. It's a tough experience when you're 10 years old, isn't it. xx
  6. congratulations to Ja Sm's DD!! That is fantastic. x
  7. Gingerbread - have messaged you! Or at least, I think I have!
  8. Just wanted to say good luck, Poppy. And good for you for finding the courage! I hope it goes really well for you.
  9. Hope it all goes really well for him- keep us posted.
  10. Honestly Frangapani, respect is due! I can manage my DD's shoes, but as to taking on more......nooooooooooooooo!
  11. Hi Gingerbread I am sure that it will be at Brislington Enterprise College, which is on the A4 side of Bristol, on the road which takes you out towards Bath. Parking is easy there. I hope it goes really well for your DD. The teacher who takes the audition class is lovely, and the dance studio is very nice. I'm not sure about times - I think that the younger ones will be earlier in the day. Good luck! x
  12. I would find it helpful if they gave us a sense of position on the list, as I don't really want to keep weeks free for something that feels at the moment like a very outside chance. We haven't had an MA class since the letters came out, but I do know that at least one other MA and JA who have the 'selected waiting list' letter. I've pretty much written it off!
  13. Very pleased for those who have places - nice to hear some good news!
  14. Yes - "selected waiting list" for my DD, and they will write in March to let us know if a place has become available. Nice not to have had an outright no, but not very helpful for summer holiday planning! It is hard to know what that phrase really means...a waiting list of how many, I wonder. edited to say that I just meant "yes" the letters are out, not we have a yes!
