Swanprincess may I ask what you mean by low profile? X

Jeliousy is very common and if your DD is a hard working pupil and doing well in reports it is the breeding ground for this kind of behaviour. To me its like in my day if you were like this at school you were labelled teachers pet and sniggered at if you made a mistake in class. X

My DD tried them. She could only have them as a performance shoe as she has very high arched strong feet and they bent at the shank too much for normal class.X

Regarding Vocational school it depends on the year and ability of the child. My DD was in 3 dances last year but is in 6 this year. And one of two understudies in another.X

May I ask how much it costs and if boys can go? X

My DS also did RBS SS in 2012 but he did White lodge. I was also surprised at the forms and needing 4 passport photos. X

When my ds did Summer School at White lodge his vodafone worked well.x

If not my dd uses Bloch soft block.Which she works in during class no hammer needed! X

Have you tried deshanking a pair of pointe shoes she's grown out of (deshanked my dd finds they are 1/2 bigger) and using calamine lotion to tidy them up. X

Anybody have an idea roughly how many dadas are awarded for dance each academic year? X

When you look at the fact that only 50 girls in total are in the top 4 by year 10 (only half apx who started in year 7 still there( from around 600ish Auditioning. This 600 are the best in their local school. So you would think these 50 would be able to find getting into upper school easy but no at 16 the students which are the best 50 from many other countrys arrive to make the odds just as hard again! Then finding work is even harder!

It might be worth checking the regional guidelines too. As my dd qualified a lot of dances to regional finals but was told that she could not do regional finals as she would by the may be in full time training.x

I'm not sure that students from vocational schools are allowed to do All England semis or National Finals? X

I have a Ballet boy who has been doing ballet for 9 years. Who may be interested.X

I would say that quite a high percentage of students in lower school have the above. Higher than in the mainstream. It was mentioned in the talk to parents at one of the 4 top lower school auditions. My personal option is that students with the above will always have a mastery in something be it computers, art, music, memory or indeed dance that makes them very focused that way. X

And to add he has just been offered his 3 year at associates in London. His flexibility is improving as he grows. X
