We were for yr9 place if that helps.

I suspect bursary had changed as it hasn’t appeared on their website this last year.

I would assume that most schools will be tightening their belts at this time. We have family that work in private education and most are charging 50% of the fees this term so income for them is down.

Hammond are still charging full fees.

I think we will hear more next week but I doubt there will be much movement MDS wise as they seem to have been giving them out as they've been returned, I'm thinking most will have made their minds up by now knowing that other people are waiting on reserve lists 🤔 still crossing everything for everyone xxx

It’s not quite as simple as that because each school has a waiting list. So although the initial offers have been made and accepted/rejected, this then triggers another round of offers and handing back of places accepted elsewhere. It really isn’t usually clear until the end of April.

  3. They’ll take it off when they do the calculation, but it’s per additional child. Not the one you’re applying for.

When working out how much to pay I know that MDS calculations take into account number.of dependents. I know from CAT scheme.that we deducted approx £2k per dependent from.our gross income. On the Elmhurst calculator it doesnt have this on there. Any ideas how much you deduct?

    It’s the same, approx £2k.

we're still waiting for the email - seems to be taking an age to come through.  DD like a cat on a hot tin roof, particularly as some of her friends have had their results (about an hour ago!).

We haven’t had ours yet either.

On the email DS got it, with all the information about the digital audition on, it said on or before the 20th April they would receive the results. I wonder how many videos they've got to go through ?!!

So it does! Thank you. I imagine they have quite a few. Tricky waiting when we have to let other places know whether we’re accepting their offer though!

  7. As regards the reserve list, they rank all the children asked to funding finals in order, and then offer down the list as MDSs become available. Last year, if you asked, they told you whether you were very near the top (ie more likely to be awarded one) or further down the list, so that you could begin looking at other options. Places do become available every year because some lucky children get more than one offer and there’s a lot of shuffling on lists once all the schools have made their offers.

Just trying to comfort my DD. Does anyone know anyone at Elmhurst who auditioned for Royal and either got a no or swl for mids? She is feeling very down and I need to pick her up again with some good news.

My dd got no for royal and no for mids but a yes for y7 at Elmhurst five years ago. He’s by no means the the only one either, so it’s definitely possible. They really do seem to look for different attributes.

Will be very surprised if finals go ahead, anyone heard?  Wonder what will happen if cancelled....wonder if they will offer from notes from first auditions?

I hope they’re deciding today, I’m going to email and check tomorrow if we don’t hear anything. RCS are going to ask for video auditions I think. However there are going to be lots of kids who just can’t do that because they don’t have access to the facilities to record. It’s all a worry, certainly, but at least everyone is in the same position.

Having had two children go through injury at Elmhurst I can positively add that the current physio service is the best it has ever been.

Similarly, we’ve had no issues accessing physio whenever it has been needed at Elmhurst.

  11. As yet everything is still planned to go ahead as usual at Elmhurst. We had an email from school earlier this week saying that normal school activities were all carrying on as normal, I imagine the same is happening with the auditions.

From memory there were 50-60 split into 2 groups. Then around 17 selected 😊

Can you remember how many boys approx? It was hard to get a feel for the men/women split.
