  1. Hi Lemon Girl - I'm afraid I'm unsure how many were auditioning - they did split groups by age. My daughter said it was a fairly normal dance class (barre and centre work). She is unsure of flexibility assessments but seems to recall doing splits. sorry I don't have more info - she did say it was fun tho :)

  2. My daughter is an Associate but does not attend a cecchetti class normally. She really enjoys attending and has not found the differences hard to embrace. Good luck with the auditions - everyone involved is lovely.

  3. I have posted this in another post but just in case it isn't spotted. . . Lexington Ballet

The Lexington Ballet is currently auditioning dancers for its 2013-2014 season.
We have three openings for male dancers, 2 opening for female dancers and 2 unpaid apprenticeships.
Auditions are at STEPS on Broadway New York on 4 JUNE
I'm not sure if open to non US residents but might be worth investigating.

  8. Hi All . . .my DD has been offered places at a couple of US summer intensives; do any of you have experience of a child taking one of these and if so was it a positive experience in terms of their dance training. Daughter is RAD trained and the schools are Vaganova - would this cause a problem on her return to her regular classes do you think?. She is 14 years old. Unfortunately time is of the essence as we must send acceptance and deposit (or not) this week - thank you for your comments :)

  9. Hi my daughter is 14 and feels that she does not get enough pointe work integrated into her classes (usually 15 minutes at the end of the lesson) As she wishes to audition next year for vocational school she wants to build her confidence in this area. Should I ask her teachers if it is possible to do the whole lesson on pointe - there is no separate pointe lesson available - or would this be considered inappropriate.

Thankful for all your views and experiences.

  10. Hi all - I recently went to see the end of year performance at the Britten Theatre and it was a lovely showcase of talent. I feel that LRBS offers many opportunities to children that might not be able to experience ballet.

It is situated in Clapham and it seems that neighbours of the school would like to see the facility closed.

The school have a campaign to keep it open and are looking for support. If you feel that you would like to help and support them please contact Lambeth council. There is a suggested letter to send available from LRBS.

    Many thanks
