  1. Hi Lilac - why don't you look at residential programmes where all the children are together for after class activities. I can particularly recommend Elmhurst summer school and I believe that Tring also offers a residential programme. It is possible to put forward a rooming preference but she will be paired with another DD and hopefully make friends quite easily.

  2. Hi all - My DD is attending this course in February. Due to work commitments I am unable to accompany her and so am looking for accommodation options. If anyone has a DD going who would like to share accommodation or if you are London based with a room available please send me a PM. Many thanks

  3. There is also National Youth Ballet which while not "officially" a summer school does hold a residential school (was at Tring when my DD participated) It is a lovely experience and culminates in performances to family/friends and public. Entry is by audition - London and Leeds.  Scholarships/Bursarys are available via application. My DD thought it was a wonderful (tho not cheap) experience. Their website is http://nationalyouthballet.org/2014-auditions/ . They take both juniors and seniors.

  4. Hi docs and dancing - I hope that I can set your mind at rest a little. The most important thing is to relax and show that you love to dance. You are still being assessed on potential, they are not looking for perfection. You will be given a number and placed in line and then do a regular class. The teachers are always lovely and everyone is encouraging and wants you to do your best. Try to impress with your musicality and perfomability along with your technical prowess :D GOOD LUCK!!

  5. Hi Swanprincess - I think that it is always worth applying for something that you want to do. As they select on photographs (I think) perhaps it would be worth getting your Associate teacher to help you with these. Good luck if you give it another go - best wishes x

  6. Hi Bluebell we were told that they don't have a quota for nationalities, just recruit the talent as they find it. They did say that they don't fill all spaces if they don't see what they are looking for. Sorry I don't know if there was an afternoon audition - ours was in the morning. Good luck with yours x
