  1. It was given to my dd at school, as it was ordered and paid for, I was told it had to be made and was coming from somewhere abroad. Didn't have any reason to doubt it at the time but I was keen to know what a £60 leotard looked like as i have never paid that much, so I checked the label when dd got home and it was Dansez, not what I orderd at all. It had to come all the way from Kent !!!!????
  2. Cotes du rhone ! Welcome at last ????
  3. Dancing feet I will pm you If I can work out how to do this on my phone !!!!????
  4. Wish someone had told us this piece of information last year. Not being on an mds we stuck to the uniform list to the letter as we were told we had too. The wear moi leotard I was told she had to have that cost me nearly £60, we paid for it up front it took months to arrive. when I checked the label it wasn't what they said it would be, I checked the same one in line it was £24 !!!!!!And it was damaged. by the time i had seen it when dd was home it was too late to do anthing about, i know they have to make a profit somewhere but felt completely ripped off. As for pointe shoes as my dd usually wore grishkos and we were told by the dance shop Hammond do don't like them, they fitted her in school in what could only be described as wellies, I returned them as luckily they had given her a broken pair ( I do have to say there was no problem in returning them ) I asked her dance teacher if she could have grishkos again as they seemed to be better on her narrow feet, and her reply was yes get what fits not a certain brand. Don't get me started on tap shoes way too long a story !!!!!!!!!!! So my advice would be shop around mds or not Happy shopping ????
  5. They used to hold comps at parklands in Doncaster and there is also Gainsborough havnt done them in while as we moved to the other end of the country never thought I would miss them but I do ???? Good luck sorry I can't help with costumes we were always lucky enough to be able to borrow them
  6. Smallbythesea good luck to your dd, my dd is at the school she absolutely loves the singing and the music lessons there, signing was never her strongest point and she was always a little aprehensive about it, but now she's loves it when I brought her and friend back for half term they were sat in the back of the car singing away to a number song it was amazing !!! Hope she enjoys her day xx????
  7. Hi hairbelles No your question is not too intrusive, but I was was open with the school and said my dd would have to audition elsewhere just to chase the funding, but as they only help students prepare for 6 th form auditions we didn't bother this time, she will defiantly try next year when she has a years vocational training behind her. It was her first choice school and she is really happy there I'm glad to hear its all worth it in the end Thanks 2dancersmum son has already got his summer job as a life guard mapped out, talk about forward thinking I could learn a lot from my children ????
  8. Thanks for the replys, my son has a trip to Cambridge coming up soon he has been chosen by his school, so he aiming high. This is one of those occasions when having patents that have not gone to uni has come in handy !!! The worry is how do I choose who to fund ? As they keep pointing out to me of my children will be choosing my nursing home ????
  9. Thinking well ahead, my dd is currently yr 7 vocational school but with no mds funding, finding it nearly impossible to meet the fees at present, and may have to think about her coming home. Does anyone know if what I pay for her will be taken into account when my son applies for uni. Dd will be in her last year by then if she lasts that long !! Paying what I do now pushes us below the poverty line, but it is currently my choice to do that. I took a huge gamble and its not quite paying off. If I hang on and keep her there will my son be able to get his grant or whatever is needed to go to uni these days so at least I know he can follow his chosen career path too. Like most siblings of dancing children he has already sacrificed so much. If someone could give me the magic answer to, is it really all worth it ???? I would be grateful I do work full time and currently get child benefit because I don't earn enough for them to take that off me thank goodness I have just started to go into panic mode as my son has started looking at unis with his current school

  17. Thanks for all advice, Had a very stressful morning, after ringing the doctors he diagnosed my dd over the phone with hand, foot and mouth which is very contagious ahhhh !!!!! I rang back and asked if I could actually go in and see him because I wasn't completly convinced it was this and I got an appointment for her. Good news it wasn't hand, foot and mouth after all just mouth ulcers, he's no idea what caused them as he said she looked fine (i had already said she looked fine) and she was ok to go to school. So i've been out, changed her toothpaste and mouthwash and have bought aloclair for her ulcers lets hope this works. Thanks again for all your advice I would never have thought to change the toothpaste.

My dd had eyb rehearsals all weekend loved it no problems at all looked in her mouth tonight full of ulsars ( sorry if I've misspelt that ) she says she feels ok but her mouth is sore has SATS next week she's 11 year 6 so don't know weather it's school or dance that's wearing her out or a combination of both, she eats well and doesn't look poorly it took me by surprise tonight when she mentioned her sore mouth has anyone else had this problem x
