Good morning all. Just wondered if anyone knew of a way to dye pointe shoes (at home) I have no idea how much it would cost to have them done 'professionally' but I don't want a great expense. Any experience would be greatly appreciated. swe

Has anyone ever done this, and is it worth the effort re buying the paint and does the new colour lasts for the duration of once a week shoe use? We have oodles of old but still serviceable pairs from our oldest, but now her younger sibling is starting ballet and it seems a shame to have to go and buy new shoes, when we have a stable of shoes already, albeit in pink not in white.

Hi, DD messaged me to buy light-medium colour foundation for her to use on her pointe shoes..... I've heard in good old days (my era!) of using Pan Stick foundation on shoes but I'm anxious to make sure I get the best option (& at reasonable price) bearing in mind also that this is needed asap & I get told on a Bank Holiday weekend!! Certainly no time to get special order of an already flesh colour/matt shoe! Any advice on what to buy & how best to apply would be great - especially also on 'fixing' any colour as would hate to think of it rubbing off onto tights & costumes -aghhh!

Befuddled by options....some say use Sharpie Pens but then some say these wear off.... Has to be able to be done by DD at voc school as no chance to get shoes home for me to do..... Seen all sorts of items online eg. a spray fabric paint but it needs heat to fix....guessing a hairdryer could do that but would it compromise the integrity of the pointe shoe box strength & performance? Any advice greatly received - thank you!

On the back of the black pointe shoe thread, does anyone have any tips for turning pointe shoes white? The lady in our local shop suggested plimsoll white net - does this work? Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

DD has lots of pink ballet tights for college - they have no snags or ladders but they are grey, very very grey I have put them all in a bucket of vanish - but how do I make they a decent colour again? So far we have suggested beetroot or permanent red ink (but just a drop or two) So how long do they soak for or should I add bleach too? I wondered about washing soda? Can you tell I am lost?
