anondancer_15
ok so yesterday after a lot of deliberation I bought some gaynor mindens, got them home and earlier finished sewing on the ribbons, went to put them on and tightened the elastic... I must've pulled the elastic a little too tight because about 3 inches came flying off the end and now the end is lost inside the casing somewhere, I can't even feel whereabouts it is. if anyone has a solution please let me know as I'm having a slight meltdown as you can imagine!! pollyanna
Hi, I would get in touch with the shop you bought them from. When my daughter snapped the elastic on a brand new pair of Gaynors the week before her intermediate exam - we rang the shop and they put another pair in the post for us and we returned the pair with the broken elastic. That was Dancia in London who were really helpful and luckily they had another pair in stock. We have to be careful with the elastic now though as she has special order Gaynors! Good luck! x Edited May 27, 2015 by pollyanna
anondancer_15
mine were from dancia too!! they were really horrible to sew as well took much longer than normal (did you also find this) and as soon as I finished to put them on the elastic broke. pollyanna
Yes, they are really hard to sew but you do get used to them and imo certainly worth it. At least they come with suede tips which saves a job! Best of luck with getting them swopped with Dancia x
anondancer_15
thanks!! I managed to get them swapped though it cost me £10 to send them back! They were really good about it though and sent them back really fast. Second time I sewed on my ribbons with my sewing machine - much easier!
