Lema
Hi everyone, Just wondered if anyone could advise me here?! A friend if mine has a child that has just sat the 11+ for entry into grammer school and has been advised to put the grammer school down as her first choice when sending in the forms for secondary school application, so I just wondered if this applies for vocational schools also? As she was told if you don't select the grammer school for your first choice and the child is offered a place that they won't be able to go? Thank you in advance for any advice offered ???? Moneypenny
Vocational schools are private/independent fee paying schools, so they are not part of the LEA secondary school application process. If you get offered a place at a vocational school after audition and you can pay, you can go. That's my understanding anyway, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Picturesinthefirelight
Money penny is correct. Vocational schools are independent of the LEA & each school handles their own admissions even if funded places are offered MDS funding is separate from Local Authority funding.
