National Dance Company Wales return to Leeds
 
National Dance Company Wales return to the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre, Leeds on Tuesday 25 – Wednesday 26 March with a programme of beautiful dance.
 
Award-winning National Dance Company Wales are the resident company at the Dance House, Wales Millennium Centre, which is regarded as one of the best dance production and rehearsal facilities in Europe.
 
Inspired by the magical waterscapes of Wales, Stephen Petronio’s Water Stories is set to an original score by Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer Atticus Ross (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network). 
 
Stephen Shropshire’s Mythology is an enthralling work complemented by Rzewski’s Coming Together, a composition for piano, jazz ensemble and spoken word. They Seek To Find The Happiness They Seem by National Dance Company Wales Rehearsal Director and House Choreographer Lee Johnston is an awe-inspiring duet that brings to life classic love stories and famous dance partnerships. 
 
Northern Ballet’s Chief Executive, Mark Skipper, said: “We are delighted that National Dance Company Wales are returning to the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre with their exciting new work as part of our spring season of dance. Performances of this quality are helping to establish Leeds as a City of dance and our venue as a home for mid-scale work.”
 
On Tuesday 25 March there is an opportunity for ticket holders to watch the Company in class and audiences are welcome to sketch or photograph the dancers in training. There will also be a free post-show talk on Tuesday 25 March with Rehearsal Director and Choreographer Lee Johnston and two of the Company’s dancers.

The Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre is an intimate studio theatre situated inside the stunning home of Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre on Quarry Hill, Leeds.  The building, winner of the 2011 National Lottery Award for Best Arts Project, also houses a café bar which is open daily for pre-performance meals or drinks.  The theatre was recently named as the best family friendly theatre in Yorkshire in the Netmums Theatre Awards.
