Just to say "Good Luck" to the potential students, who are auditioning for YDA tomorrow.

 

I cannot believe that it was five years ago, that we were in your position.

 

I have to say, it was a great choice and we are shortly to start the audition process for Upper Schools!!

I've often enjoyed West London School of Dance/YDA productions, especially their Nutcracker. Can't find any clips online but this video gives a flavour of what makes their performances so special http://www.wlsd.org/charity.html

I expect we will see some of today's auditionees take starring roles in the future!

The West London School of Dance was attended by Royal Ballet ballerina Yasmine Naghdi,  and in her September 2012 Dancing Times interview she said she'd found her great love of dance on the stage of The Bloomsbury Theatre. One hell of a Star I'd say, who danced in WLSD' Nutcrackers as a child. (if I remember well from the interview she went to WLSD aged 7 or 8 until she joined The Royal Ballet School).

My ds has talked to Yasmine at the ROH when doing Swan Lake. He mentioned YDA and WLSD and he is at the stage she was at his age. Loving YDA and WLSD just like Y did!
