Bernard Atha CBE - RIP

Long standing supporters of Northern Ballet will be saddened to hear the news that Bernard Atha has passed away at the age of 94.

 

Bernard Atha was a huge supporter of the Arts in Leeds and was instrumental in the move of Northern Ballet from Halifax to Leeds.  I saw him in the audience at Northern Ballet performances in Leeds many times over the years either in his official capacity or as a member of the audience.  He was the Honorary President of Northern Ballet.
