Sending parcels etc. to the EU from the UK

In the post-Brexit landscape, this Observer article may be of use to anyone wanting to send things to EU countries this Christmas, or at any other time:

"Gifts from Britain valued at less than €45 (£38) are exempt from VAT or other charges."  Note that anecdotal evidence suggests that this is not always the case, though.  There are also numerous reports of parcels being held up, or even going missing.  See also:
