Littledancer
Hello, would love to hear from anyone who has been involved with an EYB Coppelia production. Can see from previous posts that Swanhilda’s Friends are in 3 acts but can anyone tell me what the role entails for the Coppelia doll? Many thanks. Pointetoes
Hi my DD has danced both the parts of Swanhilda’s friends and the doll. As the doll she was in all 3 acts, which included a sole ,she was also a lead dancer with the Czardas when she was the doll. Hope that helps. Littledancer
Thank you Pointetoes. That’s very helpful. What part did your DD prefer? She sounds like a very talented young lady.
Pointetoes
She loved both however she is glad she did the friends first.
Littledancer
Thank you Pointetoes, so helpful. Very excited for DD casting day. Will be her 5th EYB production and has had some great roles/leads in the past. Fingers crossed for another great role. She loves the whole EYB experience anyway and was fortunate enough to be awarded the full scholarship this time after being short listed the last 3 times. It’s nice to have an idea on casting day what roles are available so thank you very much for your help:)
Pointetoes
Good luck. DD did a total of 6 productions ( all senior) and loved them all, especially her last one. Sadly she is now 18 and all though Miss Lewis said she could still audition with auditions for September going on we decided that Cinderella in Hollywood last November would be her last one. We will miss it, we have both made some wonderful friends.

Littledancer
Thank you Pointetoes, my DD is 14 and also did Cinderella last November. What a fantastic production that was, we absolutely loved it. DD was a Lead Guest (one of four, in the pink dress). I’m sure she will know your DD! Want to make the most of the EYB experience before she’s 18. It must have been an emotional last show for you and your DD.
Pointetoes
DD was one of Cinderella’s Friends 😀 She had the black polka dot dress. There were a lot of tears on the Saturday night but the Friends plus the Wardrobe Master are in constant touch with each other, which is lovely. Good luck with casting. Littledancer
All the Cinderella’s Friends were lovely girls and now I know who your DD is:) DD has also remained friends with many past cast members too. Lots of great friendships and lovely memories. Who knows what will happen at casting, there were plenty of fantastic dancers at the audition, so we’ll have to wait and see. Just excited and happy to be part of the upcoming production. Thank you.
