LorettaW
I've just seen a couple of posts from last year about the company's debut tour last year. If you're a ballet lover and want to see ballet with a difference I hope you'll give JSLN a try. Mods if you feel this is inappropriate advertising, please feel free to delete but as the Company Manager for a very small and new neoclassical ballet company, I'd like to think this is a good forum to help to spread the word about our work. The company are currently halfway through their second UK-wide tour. Audiences who have seen the shows have loved them but since we're not funded and really do depend on box office takings as well as public engagement I hope you will come to support us. We're committed to bringing dance to small theatres, many in rural locations as well as taking on young and newly graduated dancers to allow them the opportunity to work with the dance genre of their choice - ballet. Variations of Pointe II is a triple bill with something for everyone ranging from exerpts from ballets of the romantic era, comedy in the shape of Mojo in Motion based on the Austin Powers theme and our artistic director's neoclassical work, Consequential Gaps. It would be wonderful to see Ballet.co members at our shows. Please do let us know who you are and collect your special gift at our merchandise counter! Remaining shows before the company hit Edinburgh Fringe in August are: Tonight at the Everyman Theatre, Spennymoor Settlement Redgrave Theatre, Clifton http://redgravetheatre.com/event/2017/07/jsln-variations-of-pointe-ii/150/ St Peter's Church, Lower Parkstone, Poole: Entry is by donation to the church, Gillingham Methodist Church, Dorset: Tickets from Ticketsource https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/EMEELK, The Copy Shop, High Street Gillingham or on the door Westfield Academy Theatre: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/GLFDJF or on the door The Courtyard Theatre, Hackney http://www.thecourtyard.org.uk/whatson/903/variations-of-pointe-ii HATS Theatre, Hoslworthy, Devon https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/GJDFIF Tickets also available from HB Woolacotts or on the door Dylan Thomas Theatre, Swansea: https://www.dylanthomastheatre.org.uk/whats-on.php?id=1960 Millfield Theatre, Enfield: https://www.millfieldtheatre.co.uk/whats-on/variations-of-pointe-ii/ Partington Players Theatre, Glossop: http://partingtonplayers.org.uk/variations-of-pointe-ii-just-live-dance-company/ Salford Arts Theatre https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/event/175433 Wark Town Hall, Northumberland: http://warkmechanicsinstitute.btck.co.uk/WhatsOn Edited June 30, 2017 by Jan McNulty Edited to make tour venues easier to read
Jan McNulty
Hello Loretta and welcome to the Forum! In accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy could I please ask you to include a signature on your profile? "Members who have commercial interests must indicate that by adding a Signature line to their postings, stating the name and type of their business and giving their website and/or business email address for enquiries. (You set up a Signature via Account Settings in the dropdown menu under your name. On a handheld device you select the three bars icon at top right, then Account Settings, then Signature.) If members wish to contact businesses, associate schemes or other commercial enterprises this should be done via the vendor’s website or email, not by starting threads on the forum. Sending promotional "mailshot" messages to other users is not allowed." Thank you so much for the information about JSLN. I see you are coming to Salford, which I hope to be able to get to. Good luck with the tour! JSLN Dance Company Website
