Tutusrus Posted February 2, 2017 Share Posted February 2, 2017 Can anyone advise on the usual procedure re requesting time off to audition elsewhere when on an MDS. I have heard a few scare stories about our school withdrawing MDS funding if a child auditions elsewhere. Does anyone know if this has ever happened? We have an MDS and auditioned out to one school, the head of dance rang me to ask if child was happy at present school. Wanted to know our reasons, confirmed that the MDS was secure. I was upfront and informed the school as it really was for the experience as had every intention of staying. Other children auditioned out as fully intended to leave also on MDS's, as far as I know none were threatened with MDS withdrawal. I'm sure every school is different and also I'm pretty sure it varies from child to child! All things are not fair in the dance world!!!
