Aaw, just back from seeing the VFB's Swan Lake. Or maybe Swan Pond, in this case, but again I am so pleased that this hardworking little company bring such pleasure, and maybe the first experience of ballet, to so many little theatres around the country. The audience in Taunton were held spellbound for 2 hours! There seemed to be people in the audience with learning disablilites and elderly people with dementia, and it was lovely to see them all enjoying it.

It's funny as well, I sometimes feel like the audience have enjoyed it just as much, if not more so much, than I do when I join an ROH audience to watch the greatest companies in the World! I remember once sitting in the ROH watching Romeo and Juliet (Rojo and Acosta,no less) and the woman next to me, done up to the nines, saying quite loudly,'oh get on with it', during the tomb scene!
