    We had DDs audition yesterday and yes we were picked for the interview, it was nothing to worry about. But come home and started doubting whether we have said the right things etc. the song is nothing to worry about DD only sang part of the song then they stopped her haha! she came away feeling happy and that she had done enough so that’s all I could ask for.

    another quick question please How long after the audition do we find out the results? for Tring and Hammond. Also how do we find out about funding.

    thank you for replying, that’s put my mind at ease, and I’m looking forward to doing this with her, I won’t be going to Tring though my DH will be taking her, I’ve not managed to get to Tring. The Hammond seems like a lovely school, I have been for a viewing of the school.

    thank you for replying, I’m sure DD won’t mind the interview, I’ve just explained to her that I just want her to go and enjoy the experience, and enjoy what ever comes her way

    Our DD has her auditions coming up for The Hammond (18th) and Tring Park (14th), I am now starting to get nervous for her, she has been putting in a lot of hard work focusing on her stretches and practising her dance that she has prepared, We are going through her song of choice for her solo song for The Hammond (that worries me as she is not a singer!!!) I don't want to put a load of pressure on her, and want her to go and enjoy the experience, but obviously want her to do well and give it 100%. What could you advice us to do with her over the next week and a half. Is there any questions that we should be asking at the auditions if we have the chance?

    What kind of questions would you want to ask in an audition for Y7 entrance ? and what can we expect them to ask us? especially for DD's point of view shes worrying about what they may ask her, I have explained that i cant imagine them being difficult or trying to catch her out, we have auditions next month for Tring Park and The Hammond?

    The Hammond Entrance Interview (THEI) is your opportunity to meet with a member of The Hammond’s Senior Leadership Team. Both the applicant and their Parent(s) / Guardian(s) will be invited to answer questions created to decide if The Hammond is the correct fit for the applicant and their family. its still scaring me, not so much my husband or DD. I'm still wondering what kind of questions they may ask or questions that DD can ask in the interview as well?

    I had the pleasure of taking my DD to the Nutcracker this year as she had been asking to go for the last few years. She is a Saturday associate at Midland Theatre Ballet, she really enjoyed seeing Rosanna Ely in the performance as she has taught DD in her associate classes. She cannot wait for Yvette Knight to come back to the productions as she is currently teaching DD. I loved the show and became very emotional through out. I am looking forward to taking DD to more productions through out the next year. Taking her to see the show has given her more fight to dance and get into the schools where she wishes to attend next September.

    I'm hoping that those who have been through the audition process at the Hammond can put my mind at rest please. In our DD's audition in January they have asked for a interview with parents, What are they looking for or what questions are they going to ask us or our DD? she's applying for the dance course Y7

    a quick question, do all the pupils at the Hammond have Saturday classes? My DD have just applied and got our audition in Jan.

    Thank you so much for this post, it’s out my mind at rest so much, I want her to go and enjoy it but the singing puts me off lol, her dance teacher is going to help her with the solo I can totally get the cost of the uniform etc, 😳

    Good Morning, My daughter who is 10 has been offered an audition for The Hammond, can anyone please offer any advice or let me know what we will be expecting. She is a ballet dancer and takes modern/jazz lessons ( she hasn’t been doing them long) She isn’t a singer so we are a bit shocked to see that she has to sing a song for the year 7 dance programme. we are stressing a little bit.
