My daughter said the same about the school, it really did have a lovely feel. We have also said if not successful this year she can try again if she wants too. It might be she goes to school locally and can’t see herself moving. We would need a MDS place so have made it very clear from the beginning even if she gets in, without funding it just won’t be possible. So she knows it is a very slim chance and has tried not to think about it too much, but this long wait has definitely made that harder. Would just be lovely to get the good news though, wouldn’t it!

We were told we would be told via a letter in the post. I’ve stopped looking at my emails since finding this out! If so, just means the wait is a little longer whilst waiting for it to arrive. Good luck!

Sorry to hear your daughter is upset, it’s completely understandable. Each school will be looking for something different so just because you did/didn’t make it into one doesn’t mean the same will happened with another. Fingers crossed for The Hammond 🤞🏻 If it isn’t this time, there is always next year. We had knocks back for things in before and I honestly believe they make you stronger. Has your daughter done many auditions before? The waiting is the worst it feels a lot longer than it has been! Hoping we find out soon.

We had an email to say would find out by the 9th so I think we will and they are just holding more auditions as they still have places available. I could be wrong though.

Yes the official last one was this Monday just gone but a few (not sure how many) were doing in Feb as they couldn’t make it which is why they said the date would be the 9th but not sure exactly when.

Does anyone know anyone who is still to audition? I know someone had said they knew someone who was auditioning in Feb as they couldn’t get there in Jan. Just wondering when the last one is as I am guessing they can’t make their decisions beforehand.

We had an email to say it would be by the 9th. I know a few got into Tring and have to let them know by the 2nd so they did speak to The Hammond and they said they would try to get them out earlier. 🤞🏻

@LyndseyJ have you been selected to do THEI? We found out yesterday we haven’t been. All the staff were really friendly this morning. For anyone worrying about the song, please don’t as they said they just want them to give it a go, they aren’t expecting professional singers.

Hello, is anyone auditioning for The Hammond for Year 7 over the next few days? We have received an email today to say that we do not have to attend THEI (The Hammond Entrance Interview) as it’s not applicable. Does anyone know what this means? We would require a MDS due to income so it’s not due to that. Just wondering why it wouldn’t be required. Thank you!

Hi, we are considering The Hammond for my daughter for 2024. It would be based on whether we got funding or not. I have a couple of questions I am keen to see if anyone can answer please. Has anyone regretted sending their child there? How has the academic side of things been. Daughter is very academic and just want to make sure she still achieves good grades. Has anyone had a child do the dance route who has a passion for being on the west end? This is her passion but they don’t offer funding. She is also a very capable dancer but long term her goals is to perform on the west end. She currently does local shows and has played several large roles. Just wondering if she continues with this throughout her time at school would this be enough for when she wants to focus on musical theatre at higher education? Any other tips of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
