  1. I had a frustrating time at 9am, I could access every performance I wanted but after clicking the seat, nothing happened for about 10 minutes, I kept re-clicking but it was completely stuck, then the picture came up out of the blue, once I had the ticket in my basket it was okay until I clicked on the next ticket and the same thing happened, after 4 times I went to the payment part which was normal and straightforward! When I re-started for the 5th ticket the long delay after clicking on the seat happened again.

I was happy with the tickets I bought, I did notice that the right side of middle row S in the amphi has been allocated for wheelchair users, which I'm not complaining about, it makes sense as they are near the lifts, that's why I liked them.

Bit of an all-round muddle again by the sounds of it, I felt the system was going to pack up but it didn't.

1st October, so sounds like I'm completely & unavoidably screwed for that date. I'm supposed to be seeing Mayerling on 7th so I hope that will be possible before the strike on 8th. I feel like sending these damned unions a bill for the unused theatre tickets I'm racking up due to their strikes.

One thing I never do now is buy the train ticket in advance, that way if I have to cancel the ballet ticket I can deduct the price of the train, which is often more expensive anyway. My first Mayerling is 21st October, no train strike but casting change announced 🙂

  3. I didn't really feel like going tonight so have changed the seat for Alina Cojocaru on Friday by telephone, there should be slightly less travel problems in London itself, at least the 11 bus should be running, though not the over crowded trains to and from London. Glad Giselle had a successful first night, it sounds lovely and I want to hear the Ukrainian anthem at the end!

Great news, I have just received an email from Marquee TV with upcoming programming, and they will be showing this Gala.  It says it will be a ticked event and they will send further details soon.

I had the good fortune to see Nureyev dance many times.  He had the quality of a big cat such as a panther, amazing leaps with soft landings.  Such technique was a revelation then, but is now an expected benchmark of a male principal.  However few today match Nureyev's charisma.

It's funny, Nureyev has been likened to several animals, I too have always thought of him as a panther, slightly dangerous 🙂

I booked, at the theatre, first half of July and was told that for security one's e-ticket would not be issued until 24 hours before the performance. The email confirming my booking includes a link and having used it this afternoon it takes me to my e-ticket but states the barcode will not appear until 24 hours before the performance. Printed of my ticket (which shows seat details), without the barcode, just in case.

Think I'll print out whatever is available now too, my printer can take ages to work properly, thanks for mentioning it!

  6. Yes, "clunky" is a good word to describe the current system, whilst I have been able to book everything I have wanted in the end, it is a slow procedure, easy to click on the wrong view from seat (I'm sure they were trying to get me to buy L71) and fairly difficult using Gift Certificates in particular.
