I don't know why you are wary.
There are plenty of tickets and the site is working perfectly well (I bought some tickets for tomorrow earlier).
Because it keeps switching between the new/old checkout service - for me anyway -
are people still able to see tickets available for tonight? I can but am wary of the site's technical reliability
-
Did anyone have a situation where they were shown the new checkout service earlier today (with the seats pictures) but are now unable to see it?
I'm quite nervous as I want to get a ticket for tonight and can see some available, but given the ROH website and its technical issues I'm wondering if those seats are actually available and is this information valid? I wouldn't want to turn up to find that the seat has gone.
Just wondering if anyone can still see seat availability for tonight? -

Mayara Magri has just posted that she’s expecting to be Sugar Plum Fairy on 5/1 after isolating for 10 days! She seems to be replacing Claire Calvert
Oh! I really wanted to see her and Ryoichi before their performances were cancelled. I suppose there aren't any seats left though -
Is it more likely that later performances will go ahead and ones on earlier dates might not? Due to potential restrictions

I booked tickets via the fromtheboxoffice website and they have been in touch about refunds for the performances which have already been cancelled.
Great thank you - so they are full monetary refunds and not credit vouchers? -

Would be good to know what is happening with Raymonda as I have a ticket for 21st Jan, through From the Box Office. I m just waiting to see if any more restrictions are brought in this week before I decide on what to do for events I have planned in London in January.
Same, it's quite confusing right now. Will From the Box Office provide refunds if the performance is cancelled? Or is it better to book from the venue website? I'm not sure -
If you order tickets fromtheboxoffice, will they be refunded if the performance is cancelled?

I've only watched the first act so far, and thought it improved towards the end, what I presume is the dance of thieves was exciting, and Fumi Kaneko and Edward Watson had a fascinating pdd, other outstanding dancers were Calvin Richardson and Joseph Sissens. The sound quality of my laptop is bad but even so I wasn't impressed by the music, recognised the Liszt music but thought it sounded odd compared to the original.
Just wait for Act 2 - the music is really amazing.
Agree that Joseph Sissens and Calvin Richardson really stood out. Astounding performances.

For those who booked to see Mayara today, I think she's shared a few clips from their stage call on Instagram - just a taster for everyone who's missing it

I dare say the ROH could do with the additional support of us all buying the "deadstreams", too. I'm several behind at the moment, but guess I shall be catching up sometime in the next couple of weeks, faute de, well, anything else.
What do you mean by "deadstreams"?
Adoring the Dante Project stream. Of course, it was uniquely amazing live, but still has the same profound impact digitally.
Not sure where to ask this, but has Thomas Adès released the orchestral score on Spotify or anywhere else? Would definitely purchase it if I could find it.- 1

Of course, but it still feels familiar, and it's not just the ROH, so many shows are now closing.
Was just wondering, in the case of the ROH anyway (not too sure about other places) have the shared eating areas/selling of refreshments exacerbated the situation at all?
I know dining services are a big part of their revenue as well, but was wondering if they'd come back without the additional services it might have been easier to contain spread. I'm sure it wouldn't have made much difference in the end though.- 1

Why are you annoyed? I'm pretty sure it wasn't an easy decision to cancel performances.
I was annoyed because I didn't understand why the Nabucco performance could go ahead today (20th) and not on the 28th. However, as @Dawnstar kindly pointed out, it's because of the casting: a different cast is performing today who is presumably Covid-free. Same with Tosca. The other cast must have tested positive.- 1

Did people see the cancellations coming? It does seem like quite a shock especially since it was only a few days ago when I asked what everyone's plans were and most were still planning to go...
I'm a bit shocked and also kind of annoyed about the Nabucco ones as I was hoping to go on the 23rd/28th.
I'm really hoping that none of the January performances of Nabucco are cancelled, as it's such a short run. And hopefully the January performances of Nutcracker can go ahead. -

My cancelled Nutcracker last year was definitely over a month but I’d have to look at the card statement
Oh so would it be the actual monetary value instead of gift certificate credit?
(Unless you purchased it with ticket credit originally I assume)- 1

Indeed - the box office team are as likely as any other to have been hit by Covid absences.
Yes. When I last spoke to them though, the respondent told me a lot were working from home (she herself was at the time)- 1

Don't wish to be pedantic but does anyone have any idea when credit returns for cancelled performances might be issued?
-
Bit confused though because opera on the main stage seems more unaffected. Nabucco today and Tosca on Wednesday seem to be going ahead this week.
And Wolf Witch Giant Fairy on Tuesday/Wednesday. -

Can we see a silver lining in Dawnstar not missing Magri's debut?
ETA: or at the least not having a dilemma over it.
🙂
Gutted to be missing Magri's debut!
And the Nutcracker in general, as I guess there are hardly any tickets left for performances after January 3rd - if they are not also cancelled? -
I won't be seeing the Nutcracker at all then, as I believe there are hardly any tickets available after January 3rd.
Oh well - I hope they all recover soon, extremely sad for Magri/O'Sullivan and the others debuting roles. I was especially looking forward to seeing Magri in the SPF role.- 1

Blimey - looking on the ROH website, and they have marked all Nutcrackers up to and including the 3rd Jan as cancelled. Is everyone else getting that? I've not had an email about it as yet - has anyone?
Yes...oh dear.- 1

Very slightly off topic, I suppose, but carrying on from the previous posts, I just checked to see how old Morera actually was, and I was quite surprised to see that Sarah Lamb is also in her early 40s, and that Nunez will reach the big 40 in March. . These dancers are still marvellous, and my first choice for so many different things.
Thank goodness the RB doesn't have have an obligatory retirement age like the Paris Opera ballet.
Indeed - and Natalia Osipova is 35, definitely still an amazing dancer.
I know they've all had injuries during their career, as every dancer experiences - maybe not that many though?I believe Steven McRae has said that minimising injury is the best way to prolong a dancing career, and it seems that these dancers have been able to do this well, given their demanding schedules etc. I suppose the pandemic period of physical rest has also helped them in this respect.

Well probably the one you need to see is Muntagirov...I believe most think he has it “all”
On the other hand it’s nice to have a bit of variety in dancers.
There’s nothing wrong with a few slightly shorter Princes in stature either lol!
Indeed, height definitely doesn't affect dancing quality!- 2

Lovely performance from the four leads tonight. The whole evening really cheered me up.
I was imagining Ashley Dean as a future Juliet.
I found her performance as a young Beatrice in the Dante Project very impressive.- 3

Same. Mayara was amazing. And Ryoichi Hirano of course.
I also cried a bit when the Christmas tree was growing, I just love the music there.
Drosselmeyer at the end, seeing his nephew, was so moving.
